Hey everyone! I would love to see what everyone's favourite 1:400 scale model is / favourite models are!

My favourite model as an example is this one:
image00003.jpeg

A beautiful execution for a model of a plane I've flown on in this exact livery!
During the "hunt" for this model I met many new people who I've since become good friends with. This makes me appreciate the model even more as it's now not just nostalgia anymore, it's actually close to my heart! 💙

Which is/are your favourite, and why? 😄

When it comes to my favourite model it is the lh 747 mostly for sentimental reasons but it is also all around a good model
based off just appearances it has got to be the gj hawwian a330 in the new livery I don’t know what it is about that model but I just really really like it

Beautiful KLM 747 model! That specific livery is one of my most sought after 1:400s! Would love to get my hands on one!

Favourite model…there’s far too many to mention! Still, here are a few of my top ‘grails. Barely scratches the surface though and actually can’t even decide on one favourite out of this bunch…yeah, got a bit carried away here 😂 I also make no apology for my bias leaning toward the classic 747, and the 70’s-80’s era!

Those are nice ones. I'm liking that a lot. I'll have to do something similar when I get back home from vacation.

The 747s look fantastic! Who manufactured those ones? Assuming mostly AeroClassics

It is indeed Aeroclassics, using the legendary BigBird400/YourCraftsman mould (the original Mk.1 of 2003-2008 vintage) ✈️👍
Thought I was right about that, fantastic models! It seems like many of the 747s from that era have skyrocketed in value in the last few years on the second hand market.

Indeed, they really have. When I started collecting in 2007 it was entirely in the dark, outside of any forums, and I learnt of BB400 totally by accident. I found new old stock of several Big Birds on a visit to the Aviation Retail Direct shop in Hillingdon, North West London, and discovered models of 747 subjects I had always dreamed about. It was long before the ebay madness started with these - now they’re routinely going way past the £100 mark, it’s become extremely difficult to collect these at an affordable price.

Hi Guys!
My absolute favorite is a model of my very first flight back in 1963. I was often sent to Iceland in summertime to visit relatives and families. June 1963 was first time to take a flight and it was on Loftleidir DC-6B TF-LLB. The other photo is upon arrival to Reykjavik (KEF was still a Nato base only). I'm the guy with the tie. I'm of course very happy that this model has been made and a BIG tanks to Andrew Klein.Loftleidir DC-6B TF-LLB APB_2.JPGLoftleidir 1963.jpg
