Hello Phantom đź‘‹

That DC-9-20 is incredible! Did you cut and solder a longer DC-9 to make it?
If I remember right, he used an SMA DC-9-30 and cut and soldered it back together. He did a great job, you can't tell where the seam was at all. And then he also made it "flaps down", including the leading edge slats. Simply amazing work.

I vaguely remember seeing pictures of that process, but couldn't remember for sure if this was the model in question. Another level...

Thanks all for the warm welcome here.
Yes, that's what I did. It was a real fun built. Did an A300B1 too in 2007, but that one's without decals today.
Two pics, don't want to drag this off topic.

Yeah, I remember the DC-9-20 project. You learn something new everyday, I didn't know the original A300 was a bit shorter.
This has to be my all time favorite model (though it is not in my current collecting criteria: active aircraft) - the BigBird2015 Cathay Pacific Boieng 747-367 B-HOL in the iconic Lettuce Sandwich livery!

Hard to beat a classic jumbo!

I don't think I had posted anything yet so I am going to post something here.

Either the Delta L-1011, PSA DC9 or a Aeromexico MD80. Maybe they can all be tied.

This is one of the most fantastic custom works i've seen!
I've heard about cutting models when building plastic kits, but never seen it with diecast models.
Your skills are fantastic! Would be cool to see the A300B1 model finished. Hopefully in TEA livery :)

My favorite models have to be my Ariana 727 (my first model), America West A320, British Airways 747-400 “Ireland,” REX Saab 340, and Virgin Atlantic A340-600 “A Big Virgin Atlantic Thank You.” NG Alaska A321neo “More to Love” almost made the list.

Love that Ariana 727.

This one is my favorite. Orcas have a special place in my heart and I’m from the PNW myself and I find that this livery really encompasses and shows off the beauty that is the Pacific Northwest.
