Show Your Latest 1:400 Purchase

Black Friday is always a good time for me to buy models, and today I welcome 5 new models to my collection, 4 of which are new brands to my collection, Phoenix and AV400.

Firstly, I bring out the AV400 IranAir 727-200 EP-IRS. A solid model on a very nice 727 mould, coming complete with the original stand and the collector card. Out of a run of 290 models, my example is the 245th of the batch.

Next is another Iranian example, the Mahan Air A340-200 EP-MJA by Phoenix. Lovely model, the Phoenix A340 mould is very nice. Mahan Air was an airline I have wanted for a while so I am glad to have this model!

Next is another Phoenix model, and a Russian aircraft. The Phoenix Aeroflot A330-300 RA-73787 with the "100 years" sticker. I love the Aeroflot scheme, something my friends also agree with me on. Very good job by Phoenix on this model, very impressive.

Yet another Phoenix model and a true Russian aircraft, I present my example of the Phoenix Il-96-400M in the UAC house colors! This new mould is very nice, and it hasn't gotten the praise it deserves from the collectors! I would advise collectors to pick up an example of this peculiar, chubby Russian in whichever scheme you find most attractive, it is worth it.

Lastly I also was given a free model with this order for being among the first 10 to order on Black Friday, but it was a surprise to me until the order came home. A Panda Models Alaska A320 with some sticker on it. Not particularly my taste however the model itself is nice so I will keep it for now.

I originally never expected to buy any Phoenix models, given the high cost of them in Canada. But with online retailers able to offer them at reasonable prices, and the company making more interesting releases, it was too much for me to ignore.

Those are awesome, specially the Iran Air 727! Mahan A340 is also cool.
I love Iranian aviation, it's so exotic and full of nice classics.

Amazing Black Friday Haul and a big congratulations. The Iran Air B722 is a great find. The 3 Phoenixes are also very beautiful and I eager to have them on my hands (the only PHXs made in 2024 I unboxed so far were the Turkmenistan pair).
I love Iranian aviation, it's so exotic and full of nice classics.
I share the same view with Leo. Still there are some beauties yet to be realized in the 1:400 scale (Meraj A300 Cheetah, Pouya Air IL-76).

Thank you both of you! The IranAir 722 is the highlight for sure, given the quality of the mould(ik it has shortcomings but its seamless and the cockpit windows are properly placed) and how rare it seems to be. I haven't come across one in the wild like this ever so finding this with the card and original stand was quite something.

Iranian aviation is really interesting, given the variety of aircraft and airlines that exist. It's a shame no one really tries to tackle the Iranian models apart from Mahan Air and Iran Air. Hopefully this changes soon. I would be 100% for a Meraj A300.

Is there any of those 3 that particularly caught your eye? For me the Aeroflot has come out as a favorite, perhaps a symptom of me seeing too many EuroWhite schemes recently😭.

I would agree with you on the Aeroflot, which is a break away from constant forest of Eurowhite. I have these 3 same models waiting for me at home, which hopefully I can check them by early next January (I have ordered other PHXs as well).

After reading @YesterAirlines review of this last week, I ordered one from eBay from China. It arrived yesterday and all I can say is wow!! Hoping to see this model in person in Summer 2026 with a visit to the Boeing Museum.

Really awesome! I bought the blank version from Taobao. Might still take a while to arrive here.
