Plastic or not, AC's DC-4 mould is one of their finest moulds IMO. Love the livery on this one.

Who's BOB Models if you don't mind? The mould looks like NG, but I haven't heard of that brand before.

I'd think it's like what White Box or Green Box is with AC.
This would be to subvert licensing issues by NG. It was also priced similarly to NG Lite.
I'd guess to draw in the younger audience considering the subject matter.

Today I was greeted with an unexpected shipment at my doorstep. My final order from the now defuct Threshold Aviation arrived after being held up in postage for around two months.
Firstly, an EgyptAir 767-200 SU-GAJ. A 2020 release from Aeroclassics. The model itself is nice, the mould and the landing gear hubs being nicely made, however it is let down by errors in the printing and QC. The model erroneously carries the name "Nefertiti" instead of "Tiye". Nevertheless I am glad to have this as it serves as a substitute for an EgyptAir A300, a model I doubt I'll find or see rereleased again.
Secondly, the Alia 727-200 JY-AFU from the Aeroclassics June 2024 batch. I won't lie, I wasn't expecting much from this model given Aeroclassics's tendency to misprint the cockpit windows on their 727. Although the cockpit windows indeed came out lower than they should be, the rest of the model looks quite nice in terms of printing, but the mould is clearly showing its age by the seam.
These are my final models from Threshold Aviation, so there's a bit of bittersweetness in this as Threshold was where I got my first models from. I know the rest of the collectorate seemed to view Threshold as positively as I did so it's really a shame to see them go. Both models are just your standard Aeroclassics model, looks good from a distance but starts to fall apart upon closer inspection. But the fact is only Aeroclassics will make these type of models so despite having their issues, I am glad these were simply made.

It definitely was, thank you! I got them from EZToys, which they still have the ANA Star Alliance 787. JetCollector and PandaFox Toys also carry them, with JetCollector even carrying the Star Alliance ANA B777-300ER by AV400

Model 49 in my collection: NG Qantas 737-838(WL) (Scimitars) VH-VZV. VZV was the second QF 73 fitted with splits. Don't know whether I'll get VZU (1st fitted with them). Christmas Model.
Model 50 in my collection: NG Royal Australian Air Force 737 MAX-8 BBJ A62-002. Saw this at Gold Coast Airport a few weeks back and decided to get it. Christmas Model.

When I took it out of the box, the left nose tire was very very thin in one particular place and it basically fell off in my hand. So I just put the tire back in the tray and kept the model out on display. Its not that much of an issue for me. I've got a couple more models missing nose tires
