Another DT Customs arrival (using a JC Wings Il-86 donor) celebrates the Russian airline AJT Air International. AJT (Asia Joint Transport) was a good sized operator in the 1990s, flying 6 Il-86s and 3 Tu-154s on internal trunk routes and sun charters to the Med. Their standard scheme had an attractive blue belly but they also flew RA-86065 in an Aeroflot hybrid scheme. By 2000 they were the 7th largest Russian airline, but by the end of 2003 it had ceased operations.

I'm no 400 scale puritan and recently I've had the opportunity to pickup a lot of older models from someone selling their collection. This has included quite a bit of Dragon Wings (albeit mostly military), but an arrival yesterday was this rather nice Flying Tigers 747. The Dragon 747 still often displays well and this one fits nicely into my Tigers fleet.

Yesterday was Black Friday and I hope that you all could find some good deals. For this German dealer a so-called “Black Week” since last week took place. With this I was able to purchase some nice old NGModels (mainly 757s for my fantasy fleet) in 2 separate orders. First let’s start with the first to come:

US Airways Boeing 757-225 N603AU. I really enjoyed the chrome of this model.
IMG_8649.jpeg

The last ever 757 to roll out the production line - Shanghai Airlines Boeing 757-26D B-2876. Unfortunately the 2nd to last antenna seemed to be out of place but I don’t really mind to exchange it.IMG_8644.jpeg
The good old classic scheme from Civil Aviation Administration of China - CAAC Boeing 757-21B B-2801. It is not easy to come across this matte-box NG Models which is still in its original packaging.
IMG_8650.jpeg
And the last 757 from the first batch is a South American representative - Avianca Boeing 757-2Y0 EI-CEY. A real gem with such a nice scheme.
IMG_8641.jpeg
My main aim for the 2nd batch is this PLA Air Force Boeing 737-85N(WL) which broadens the Air Force fleet for my collection. Ah and a small pack of gummy candy was provided with this order, which is a very nice gesture.
IMG_8681.jpeg
Accompanied the Army 738 is this trijet - Trans World Airlines Lockheed L1011-200 N31029 in the last scheme of the airline. I was in between getting the Court Line or this but finally chose TWA.
IMG_8680.jpeg

Finally, a model that does not belong to the Black Week sale but an eBay find - US Air Force Northrop Grumman B-2A Spirit 82-1066 Spirit of America by Dragon Wings. Despite being released earlier but I have a feeling that this DW version is much more detailed than the Seagull ones I have in Vietnam. I may need to make a comparison to see.

That’s all for my haul and I hope to see your haul for Black Friday.

Very nice. I hadn't seen that gatepad before. I assume that is supposed to go with their new airbridges?
Yeah - the gatepad and the airbridges all resembled Hong Kong International Airport IRL so they can be used together. They did setup a demo at The Model Hub (Their retail arm in Hong Kong) location and they looked great.

The gatepad has 4 types - which they could be paired as 4 continuous gates for every 2 types, see the post here on Facebook.

I also get the airbridge - very delicate and fragile so I am not taking it out for pictures as the stairs accidentally detached from the main slope when I first take them out🙈🙈

Really wonderful models! How many NG 757s you have by now??? :D
That B-2 is also stunning and shows how Dragon is missed... how I wish they were still around, creating these oddball models. Would be cool to see them making a C-141 Starlifter.

Honestly, I never got enough 757s. It is just a beautiful type and NG captured it very well.

Dragon really nailed it by their military sector, they could have been the pioneer for the Starlifter but sadly decided to scale down their production. The Starlifter would be a cool model to have!
