NG Models November 2024 Hints

3) what I would pick up if it were in a different version:
- AF 77W delivery c/s - with the thick titles and simple tail logo - AF was the type's launch operator, so it'll be nice to have a good representation of that.
That would be great to have the delivery colors. Two interesting regs:
- F-GSQA which was the first delivered 77W (2004) and had the 2004 4 class configuration

- F-GZNB which was the last AF aircraft to wear the delivery livery (until 2019) and the only AF 77W which had the delivery livery and 2014 4 class configuration (which is their current 4 class configuration) at the same time with plug on the 5th window

That means that F-GSQA, with delivery colors, would be the perfect representation of AF launch 77W operator in the 2000s while F-GZNB (refurbished) can perfectly match the end of the 2010s while still having the delivery colors

I would strongly recommend you to share these with the NGmodelseurope Instagram account on DM / chat - the person handling will be able to convey these to NG

NG announced no models in August or October, and this November set, despite its size, does little to dispel concerns about what is going on at the company. There are crazy amounts of repetition and a lot of Lite models with very little in the way of originality. Check out my thoughts and rankings here.

Actually F-GSQG and F-GZNA should have the same configuration (4 class). They just forgot to add plugs on F-GZNA (the 5th window after the first door, and the 2 first windows after the second door) to match the windows config it should have and I hope they will fix it. F-GSQG is correctly represented. And F-GZNP is the only, in this releases set, to have the 3 class configuration.

Completely resonate with the frustration and sheer bewilderment at NG's release strategy.
Although, at times, looks that they (seem to) know exactly what they are doing. Which if, true, is of even greater concern

NG have posted on their Instagram pics of their upcoming models, including the blank B747-400:

The nose shape seems to be OK (well, at first glance), but the cockpit windows are crap. Wrong upper angle... they make the model look like a sad face emoji >>> 😟

They have fixed the cockpit windows for the B747-8 (which look good) but not for the B747-100, and they seem to have used the B741 windows for this B744.

The GE CF6-80 engines seem to be the very same used on their B767s. I don't like the shape of these engines, I think the exhaust cone is too thin and needs to be wider. The nacelles look nice and have a good shape.

Apart from these issues, it looks good to me!

Agree on the engines, needs tweaking, besides their hot section geometry is more asymmetrical pronounced pointing downwards - which isn't the case here?
Also 2 & 3 hang a bit low, though not as low as JC's

Agree on the cockpit windows and engines, but won't NG also make other versions (PW & RR)?

Cockpit windows are a lighting issue; the topside silver reflects light, making it look invisible. 748s have the same issue in photos.

The real problem with the prototype was the underside flaps, no clue if they fixed those.

I'll wait to see better pics of the nose section... too bad it seems NG can't get rid of this mess which is the 747SP nose
The model on the pics is not the final version that will be used for production of the normal releases it has been used for the lite releases of the Asiana models. The Air China B-2445 Future release will be the first to use the new tooling.
