Yes but as I have said and backed up with evidence European models don't seem to sell well and the Us voted in someone who has put massive tariffs on everything coming from China. Meanwhile there are billions of Asians in that market and probably twice as many buying 400 scale models as in the rest of the world.

For one you still haven't failed to answer that it is both fair and reasonable to compare NG to their main competitor.

1) There are billions of Asian model collectors? Sheesh, I would love to see an actual statistic to back up that claim.

3) I can't speak for the others, but I'll upvote comments that I may not fully agree out of respect for a differing opinion. But what are we, in high school again where this is a game of who gets the most likes?
4) It's fair to compare to the competition, but it's just a tad strange that I never see you mention JC Wings. Yes, you've mentioned them in videos, but not so much on the forum. If anything, wouldn't JC be their main competition, seeing as they mainly release Asian models just as NG is doing now?
5) You have acknowledged some of the complaints towards NG, correct, but afterwards you take the stance that NG is still the dominant company and can thus do whatever they want. That doesn't make your acknowledgements seem genuine.

This has been explained before. It splits the production run and some people will buy both. JC do the same thing - they just don't release the models at the same time

Because Aeroclassics makes production runs of 100 units and the models are made for the personal whim of the brand owner. That's why!

I don't have exact sales stats, but I've browsed enough retailer sites to see that repeat model still for sale, and eventually end up in the overstock 20% off sale bin.

Why even both with a production run of 5-6 of the same model to begin with? Or why not spread them out to leave room for other releases instead of back to back to back?

What's stopping NG from making a smaller production run of a highly sought after model by a particular niche? Your earlier theory that NG was asking for votes to determine the production quantity of the Pan Am 757, if correct, indicates they are capable of doing exactly that.

I just mentioned JC Wings and as I have said before they don't make US models (because of Gemini) so in the market you're talking about and this thread has been on about largely they don't matter. If we were talking about a lack of Asian releases then I'd be mentioning Phoenix and JC

100%. @ghqv2988 if we're ever in the same town at the same time I'd happily buy you a drink. I actually think we are arguing a lot in agreement to be honest. I am not happy with a lot of what NG has been doing either, but I can see some of the reasons why they are doing it and that is what I've been trying to explain.

Good question. It makes no sense to me too!

Another good question. I am uncertain about their release numbers but I suspect they make 300-500 units not 80-120.

Aside from the Pan Am 757, which their site says is a July model - no. Oddly long time between hints and announcement and I struggle to believe the Pan Am will appear in July too.

It's funny. In some ways 400 scale is in a better place than it has ever been BUT then in other ways it is more generic and less varied than ever.

Because they produced too many blanks with molds and then used a uniform airline livery, so that only the registration numbers needed to be changed to release them as new products.

I don't quite understand the logic behind their approach. This will only harm dealers by causing them to accumulate excess inventory.

That is my qualm with NG. Of course, other brands like GJ pull the same tactic of announcing releases in response to competition @swagninja84 however NG takes it to the next level with their gaslighting. Are we supposed to clap for them like muppets and pretend that they are listening to collectors with this latest release? If anything, their gaslighting further highlights their lack of genuine care towards the constructive feedback voiced by collectors for months.

If they're going to announce the artwork for the model, why don't they just go ahead and release it? What's the point in asking us to spend our points on it in the wishes and commissions. Is NG that incapable of detecting the pulse of the collectorate that they need to ASK us to spend our points when they are getting plenty of release feedback otherwise? No thank you.

The artwork comes way before the model is made. They are going to release it clearly - I just think they are trying to leverage the wish centre to rightsize production. I mean if they don't ask they get shat on and if they do ask they get shat on. It is 1 point! At this point if it were me I'd have just stopped communicating altogether . I'm increasingly thinking Gemini have got their comms strategy 100% correct!

Fortunately, for the 3 400 scale production projects I'm involved in this year I didn't bother asking collectors at all -

I think NG HQ's too busy figuring out which models to approve right now
And still so many models voted aren't being 'approved'

I did see some additional MDs - the IB MD-87 is approved - but curiously Finnair A330s & MDs aren't!
Anywho - it's time to sleep I have early wakey tomorrow and the CRP circus is getting a bit out of hand

As @miaoyimiaozhongl was mentioning in an earlier post in this thread I think - many collectors in China also have similar complaints with NG - and no doubt this is a genuine concern

Let's see how things pan out - the recent criticism did alter their release announcements for June. Perhaps an indication of a positive shift? Fingers crossed

I guess I'm thinking in the perspective as if it's a normal monthly release. With those, the artwork is released well after the models have already been made. I do see your point though.

Also the tiny number of very engaged collectors on forums and facebook groups should perhaps take a moment to reflect and understand they don't necessarily represent the collectorate as a whole (anymore than I do). After all look at this post from MyHobbyhouse the other day. Does he look like he's being 'ignored' and has got 'concerns'?

Arguably this is who NG is making models for. The millions of young affluent Asians.

A lot of those aircraft, especially the NG models, in that picture were on sale (MHH just added a lot to their clearance section) as I just brought a few the other day.

It seems to be common now among retailers that many NG models get heavily reduced, or that they only stock 1 or 2 of each now…

You guys do understand that NG models is a Chinese company and he made mostly for Chinese collectors because it is owned by the Chinese. They cater for the domestic market which will happily take what’s on offer.

Take what comes and vote for a model you want in their website.
