IND retro airport project

As some of you may have seen on other sites, I am currently working on a 1/400th scale model of the old IND airport terminal (circa 1974-2008)
My son did a tremendous amount of work on it, designing it to be 3D printed and also doing custom ground foils for the base board. it will occupy a space 6 ft X 6 ft when completed. I do have a few photos to share of the progress so far:

I just finished concourse A section 4. Boarding lounge area for gates 32 and 33
later renumbered A3 and A4. Here's a couple of photos.

After completing Concourse A, section 4...I'm not really happy with the window decals on the boarding lounges, they were not adhering properly. I think the main reason was because after I had the decals printed, I had clear coated them with spray paint. I've decided to reprint the decals and coat them with Microscale decal film. The results are much, much better. I'm still working on the window panels on the boarding lounges, but I do have the corridor windows done on sections 1, 3, & 5. I've got some photos of the progress:

A brief update....after some trial and a lot of error, I have decided to paint the windows on the boarding lounges rather than use decals. I have just started on concourse A, section 2. I have a couple of photos of the progress:

Note that it needs another coat of black, and it will be done after some touch ups on the window frames.
 
This went surprisingly quick. I have all 3 boarding lounge/gate areas for concourse A painted. After I let it get good and dry, I will touch up the window frames and other details.

I spent a lot of time as a youngster looking out of these windows. Decal work on the main section of Concourse B is continuing....lower level decals are done, will work on upper level after these dry and set.
 
Now that concourse B is complete, I have started on Concourse D...I'll do C last. I still have a way to go, just started on painting the upper level windows on sections C2 and C4...boarding lounge/gate area. I have a few photos of the work so far.

Don't forget to put 3-4 more coats of concrete on the underside of D1. I think that piece only got 1 coat.
 
Since it's almost Christmas, I thought I would take a break on work for my IND retro project, and I thought I would do something a bit different.
First a little background...from 1974 until late April 1981, only 6 airlines served IND: Allegheny (BAC 1-11 and DC-9), American (707, 727, and DC-10), Delta (DC-9-30 and 727-200), Eastern (DC-9 and 727), Ozark (DC-9), and TWA (707, 727, DC-9 and L-1011). Thanks to my son @IndyJets for generating Excel spreadsheet scheduling info based on OAG data, I can now accurately pinpoint a time and have the aircraft at that time in position at the airport. I'm going to start with July 8th, 1974...during the morning rush at IND...time is 7:00am.
First up are all of the flights at Concourse A:
At Gate A1 (gate 30 in this time frame) is Eastern DC-9-31 N8936E going out at 8:40 to MCO as flight 233.

Next to it, at Gate A3 (32 in this time frame) is Eastern 727-25 N8101N (normally a DC-9, was swapped out today) going out to ATL at 8:00 as flight 251:

On the TWA side, at Gate A2 (31 in this time frame) we have 727-231 N64323 going out to CMH at 7:05 as flight 514:

At Gate A4 (33), L-1011 N41012 will be leaving for STL at 7:15 as flight 223.

At gate A6 (35) we see L-1011 N31003 being readied for it's 10:00 departure to MCI as flight 507.
OK, I know that the twin stripe scheme had not been introduced in this time frame, so I'm just using a bit of artistic license here to help duplicate the activity.

Lastly, at gate A8 (36) is 727-031 N833TW is getting ready to head for LGA at 7:20...flight 420.

IND morning rush 7-8-74 Concourses B and D:
At gate B1 (20) American 707-323B N8436 is heading out to ORD at 7:40...flight 277.

At gate B3 (24) 727-232A N458DA has just arrived (scheduled 7:00, arrived 6:55) from FWA as flight 149, will go out to ATL at 7:25 same flight number.

BAC 1-11 N1130J is at gate D4 (4) going to CMH, was scheduled to leave at 6:30, but has been delayed until 7:15 due to fog at CMH.

Lastly, we see DC-9-31 N952VJ at gate D6 (6) scheduled out to ORD at 7:00....will be leaving the gate VERY soon..flight 832. (I know, this scheme wasn't introduced until 1975, but I wanted to keep this interesting)

I will do more of these as I get more Excel data...I'll try to keep it as interesting as I can.
Note that concourse C does not appear in this time frame (was not completed until 1987)
 
IND November 13, 1981 7:15 pm. 1981 was an exciting year for IND. April 26th saw the introduction of Continental Airlines service to and from DEN (and by July added SDF routed DEN-IND-SDF-IND-DEN) with 3 daily 727-224s, and October 1st saw new service from PeopleExpress to/from EWR with 3 daily 737's (incidentally, this was the first scheduled passenger service into IND with 737s...the very first with cargo only was Federal Express in November 1979. Unfortunately, PeopleExpress did not last very long at IND....disappeared after December 1981.
We'll begin at concourse A, and while things overall are a bit sparse aircraft-wise, we do have each of the newest airlines making an appearance.
Starting at gate A2 (31) we find TWA 727-231 N54336, arrived at 6:49 flight 184 from MCI, going out to LGA at 7:20 same flight number.

Gate A5 (34) we find PeopleExpress 737-217 N435PE after arriving from EWR at 7:11 flight 235, going back to EWR at 7:40 flight 236.

At concourse B, we see American 727-223 N6805 at gate B1 (20),arrived from ORD at 5:40 flight 142, going back to ORD at 9:06 flight 387.

The next gate over, B2 (22) we see Continental 727-224 N88708, flight 45 arrived from SDF at 6:04, going out to DEN at 7:23.

We'll finish up at concourse D, were we see USAir DC-9-31 N933VJ at gate D4 (4), just arrived from PIT at 7:12 flight 105, going out to EVV at 7:40.

Note...there is nothing at concourse D in this time frame.
I currently have enough data to do at least one a year from 1974 through 1981, and also from 2003 through the the last day of operations at this terminal in October 2008.
