A new set of models just came from different handlers and coincidentally two-third are Indonesian registered machines. Let's unwrap!
The first 2 models are market-specific releases hence the extremely scarce availability outside Indonesia. Specifically these are commisioned by Airshop Diecast to the manufacturer
PandaModels - a great decision aiming at the details and mould accuracy. I have some Indonesian releases in my eyes but was somewhat held-back for unknown reasons (presumably the higher shipping price?). These 2 found a way into Europe and to my surprise, to Germany (Netherlands would make more sense to me). They are quite pricey in the end but are a welcome addition according to my criteria. Firstly, a new-to-the market private carrier, which is also the first international customer of China's regional jet ARJ21 -
TransNusa A320-251N PK-TLA. Sadly the aircraft left the carrier's fleet.
Next is Indonesian largest low-cost carrier - Lion Air's new airline with the aim of young flyers -
Super Air Jet A320-232 PK-STG. Super Air Jet relies on a narrowbody fleet from the European plane makers (Batik Air also) - which is a striking contrast to the parent's company fleet.
Moving on is another pair - this time Garuda Indonesia's A330s. Till this date I only got GA B738, which might be a bit too "small" for my diorama. The airline's special schemes are well made and starting off "light" with
Garuda Indonesia A330-343 PK-GHC "Mask on". My intention is that this model can be used to easily "virtually" recreate the standard GA scheme
Going "full-fledged" with the artworks is this
Garuda Indonesia A330-343 PK-GPZ "74 years celebration" scheme. What an attractive livery it is. This model was listed for quite a while at the eBay dealer but did not give the opportunity to do "Best Offer". When it was relisted the seller opened the option and I gladly made it.
Heading a bit north we have that low-cost carrier from Thailand whose named is the literal translation of "bird" -
Nok Air B737-88L HS-DBU "Purple" livery by
PandaModels. The paint scheme belongs to the more original creation, where other-than white color adorns the livery mostly. The window line was printed a bit too high, as portrayed by the artwork. The other Nok model I got at home bears the livery that is predominantly white. A side story is that I also bidded on the green scheme but lost.
Going back in time when trijets can be easily caught the sight of at airports the globe is this Tristar - and my first -500 actually.
British Airways L1011-500 G-BLUS "Landor" livery by
NG Models. Also, this is NG's first ever application of the shortened Tristar. The model came with the port wing loose and I applied glue (but a bit too much) which unfortunately not go well. A starboard side shot of the magnificent beauty also concludes this post.
What would be your top choice in this arrival?
