NG Models' SHIFT AWAY from US Releases: 40% US to 20% US from 2020 to 2025!

12:10
And before I end this video, I definitely want to make a major note that's not just about us collectors. It includes Europe. It includes Africa. It includes Australia. It includes South America. There are so many regions that NG simply is not covering very much, if not at all. We've mentioned several of these examples, and I certainly hope to see this improve.

Watch the video before sharing false statements...

There were some open ends in my video; I'll admit that I should've provided more clarity. The main focus here is that NG Models has been shifting away from new, non-released US models over the last year. As US collectors, we are very fortunate to have many options to fulfill our desires. That said, NG was making 2-4 high-quality US aircraft a month that collectors wanted for several years. With this shift, coverage of what's been going on for the last year was needed. All regions of the world matter; I'm glad to see Asia and China with plentiful representation. That said, I hope NG will even out the playing field for North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Australia in the coming months.

This assertion, however valid, still resonates a certain America first bias...

I'm Canadian, and still waiting for NG to release an Air Canada 772/3 standard (preferably with the Colgate scheme)... How long has that mould been out?

Patience is an unkind virtue, but necessary in our hobby.

Cheers

My friends, the main purpose of this video is to show that NG's shift has been happening since June 2024. 1 whole year. The next video will feature the tariff situation, but this shift has been happening for 12 months.
I don't understand. There were 76 North American releases in 2024 and 79 in 2023. What shift?

There have been two releases with 3 quality US releases in that timeframe.

Among those releases from June-Dec alone there were DL A330-200, DLA330-300, WN 73MAX7, UA MAX-9, HA 789, DL A359, DL A321, UPS 748F, UA MAX-8, AA MAX-8, UA 739, WN 738, UA 764, DL 763, AA 762 etc etc. That is ignoring duplicates or near similar specials.

With factual evidence, this is the definition of a shift.
Where is the shift? What shift are you on about?
Let's also not forget that many of these US releases have been retro and modern duplicates.
That is the same for China and everywhere else too but not sure why retro is not valid.
Traff's couldn't have reasonably taken place until April 2025, so this shift has been in place 9 months before that situation even began. I was late to post this video as it was made in May 2025, but look at the details, September 2024 and April 2025 were the only releases with 3 good US modern releases.

I don't understand what you mean by good US modern releases? What was wrong with the DL A330-300 in December 24 for example? They had never made it before? The same month had the WN MAX-7 and the DL A330-200.

This is the list of NG North American material for 2024 - what are the 3 good modern releases in your opinion and how did you define those:

DL A321 was released in October 2020. DL A350 was released in November 2020. The aforementioned DL 332, 333, and SWA MAX 7 were already made. The rest of the list is new for NG and I'm very happy they made them.

The DL A350s were both in the Olympics schemes and hadn't been made before. The DL A332 also had never been made before. Neither had the DL 767-300s or A330-900s.

Of this list of 13 models of DL in 2024 as far as I can tell 6 were all new:

Similarly for United in 2024 of the 16 models made if I'm generous and ignore small special scheme changes you got brand new never before made:

MAX-9
MAX-8
MAX-10
MAX-10 Future is SAF
767-400
757-300

That seems like a decent return to me - plus the special scheme variants

I still don't see a shift of any magnitude here. Every geographic region got the same sort of material and usually a lot less

Great representation from United Airlines yes, but how about Spirit, Frontier, American, Southwest, and so on? Not much, mainly Delta and United's, along with a few Americans/Southwests

Only US models? Watch the video, the last minute mentions every continent in the world! Sad for you to have this view when I mention every continent in the world in the video. False statement!

Do you not hear how incredibly tone-deaf you are?
Yes you "mention" every continent, but when Africa has had 1,2,1 releases the past 3 YEARS, and you are complaining about not getting 3 US releases a month?

This was a round-up from 35% North America aircraft, technical false yes
The only thing I see shifting is your position.
Now, only modern aircraft count, but then you include all of North America into your calculation.
You are manipulating that data to work for your argument.

NG makes what they want to and think will sell whether you like it or not.
And looking at their wish program i count a total of 47 approved for production models with a US reg which is almost 21% of all approved models. As these models will be produced in the near future i don't see where you could be complaining about as many of the ones you mentioned are approved and will be done.
