NG Model 1:400 June 2025 Release Hints

borrrrrringgggggg…

as much as my gut knew they’d be two more AA mad dogs (which are great to see but as a whole compared to the past) this is too many in this time span. Especially with how many other subjects could be done. An alaska like was mentioned earlier would have been such a fun addition, PSA, continental, i’m sure lots of european carriers im not thinking of, even a Delta (even with how many Gemini have done recently) would have been great.

Hopefully the 1011s work out for those anxiously waiting.

Otherwise, my other thoughts still stand. I’ll be pleasantly surprised to see anything interesting N reg related until economically things work out…which may take a while. Otherwise my eyes will be elsewhere for older releases or towards Gemini/others…

Unfortunately, I feel I need to start turning my attention to other niche subjects past and present from other manufacturers.

NG has gone completely crazy, repeating West Air and endless AA MD-80, ridiculous large 777 cockpit window, wrong asiana colors and missing Tristar, insane!
The Tristar will likely be announced separately under “Buchanan Models”. I’m 90% sure they did the same thing with the Eastern L1011 they released a few months back.

Large cockpit window? Wrong Asiana colours? I have a few 777-200 from NG and I don’t see the “ ridiculous large cockpit window “. What’s wrong with the Asiana colours? On the A321NEO I don’t see it.
It’s scale 1/400, I don’t think that one model from any manufacturer is 100% correct or doesn’t have a flaw. Even on my 69 Qantas 1/200 models there are little “ flaws “. 99% of the people don’t even see it. I think that people are expecting to much from a 1/400 scale model at the price of 60 euro. Just my opinion.

In double quick time I've pulled together my ranking video of the announcements and this for me is probably the worst ever set announced by NG Models. I don't agree with all the criticism but it is hard to defend this bunch of models and possibly for the first time ever nothing reaches Supersonic in an NG set:

You'll notice this if you look at NG's latest batches of 777-300ERs, which are what they call the optimized versions. oh I should call it ridiculous wide window
As for the asiana color, my mistake, the model itself has the right color but the release pic's wrong, its off-white not white:ROFLMAO:1.png

Those colours of the Cathay, those I would say are wrong! They should be a blue/greenish colour, not grey.
As for the windows, I see what you mean about too big. Never noticed that because I always check the models sideways, not head on 😅. Thanks for the pictures!

The sad part is - the cockpit windows were close to accurate on the previous iteration of the mould.
We can only speculate why they modified it - I suspect incorrect collector feedback has resulted in this - as there's been substantial clamoring on forums about this ever since the 777 moulds were launched - even though the front was the best amongst the competition imo.
