1:400?! 😍

Not bad, but also not accurate and not something I’d expect a manufacturer to do in 2025. They got it right on the 747-400, so they have the know-how. It is just surprising to me that they did it this way on both the 1:400 scale version and SQ 1:200 versions
I'd have been surprised if not as SQ/HX/.... obviousely go through the same hands, consequently sharing the same master/CAD.
The wing joint however isn't the biggest problem for my eyes. There are so many things that are off on these HX like the upper deck, but particularly the aft fuselage and v.tail keep me from buying any.

I don't suppose you fancy doing some work on this Alex because I admit I'm not seeing the issues you are. For example:

I think I will keep the Jet X JA8101 (I have modified it with NG gears anyway). The font reg on the HX seems off and of course its incorrect position

Make this three versions and without looking any deeper into it, I think HX mixed two (not the reg pos.)
Grey belly reg posn vs bare metal reg posn ?
There's also the lower fuselage grey composite bit on the bare metal version (unless it's some reflection in the shared photo) - which the pictured HX version doesn't have

JAL 747s were delivered with all white stabs.
So either doing satcom/all white or no satcom/corogard would be consequent. I'm not saying this didn't exist, but I'd have made it consequent.

Edit: now that I'm looking through some pics, I see you could easily make four variants.

This would be version 5.
8101 - like most others - was delivered in Boeing's standard painting pattern but quite a few operators opted to paint the lower belly grey for better corrosion protection/FOD detection. That said, I wonder if we'll ever see a correctly done 747-130 "as delivered". I've never seen one.😉

@Phantom I assume you have never bought any 400 scale model considering the high level of accuracy is required for you to buy it? 😁
In fact the number of bought models exceeds the number of times I've been asked this question.😅

On a more serious note...
I know where and how these models are made. I'd never expect the level of color/livery accuracy I'd demand from myself when working on a project.
What decides about me buying or not is if my OCDed eyes can "tolerate" the looks of a mould. Livery/printing accuracy is only secondary if at all. In case of HX's 747 mould my eyes say "no way!", but a satcom, corogard or reg. position wouldn't kill the deal.

If @YesterAirlines hadn't shared the two images, I frankly wouldn't have realised what @Phantom was referring to. I understand the OCD challenges of someone who designs and makes.
Hehe. I guess the more you look closely, the more you know, and the burden of what you accept and let go of also changes
Hehe little philosophical perhaps but yeah.

For me the HX FDs are of interest. That's when the 747s look most majestic, and I can overlook the lack of the Sutter wing twist in 1:400. Besides I still feel something's off with the front section.
Nonetheless, Hopefully the pricing is right so I'll pick up a few FDs. .
Unfortunately, with the PT branding, the prices go haywire
