Hello! - My Latin American Customs

Hey everybody,

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I collect mostly 1:400 and 1:200 along with anything interesting found along the way. I also make custom work on diecast and resin. These are a few of the 1:400 customs I've made recently.1665937444201.jpg1665937444634.jpg1665937444510.jpg1665937444464.jpg1665937444368.jpg

Welcome to the forum. Some nice Latin classics there, so I am guessing you're from that region? How about customising some BAC One-Elevens, as several South and Central American airlines not done, such as VASP and LANICAAN-BBI BAC 1-11 Lanica Managua, Nicaragua c1967 SWC.jpg

Yes I was born in Curacao with Costarican family and now living in Panama. I have made a few more latin airlines, some more in 1/200. These attached ones are all 1/200 in either metal or resin, except for the dc-9-10 and a couple of those 727's. Those are Hasegawa kits.

I was looking at your photos on Facebook the other day. Your Servivensa models look really good, I have customized two, but the nose stripes don't look as clean as yours. I also saw you have Aeropostal and Aserca, I have been working on similar projects also, but have them on hold right now. Congrats on the great job and thanks for the inspiration, I need to start the shop back up...

Thanks! I've been following ypur CCS airport. It's amazing. Brings back memories. I have a few of those to paint in 1/400 on standby also. I'm on the lookout for more dc-9's but they're really hard to get.

Welcome aboard, we're glad you're here! I LOVE that Avianca fleet, how did you do them?
The A319, A320 and E190 are JCWings models and the ATR is a GJets ex- FedEx model.

I unpaint the models down to the metal and repaint them. The decals I design and print myself.

Even having decals, it just seems like it was tempo printed (like the factory made models). I was wondering, how do you remove the parts of the model (wings, gear...)? After seeing this I now want to make a custom for myself haha

Sometimes just by applying force really close to the joint to avoid damage. If they don't budge I mask whatever part I don't need painted and paint around it. And if I really really need to remove it I dip the model in thinner or acetone for a few hours to remove everything attached to the metal.

Amazing, thanks!

Excellent work Josecolme, I really enjoy your Latin America Classics, especially the LACSA models. If you ever need to find a home for them, I'd be more than happy to oblige!

One of those SAM BAe 146's passed through Grand Cayman on its delivery flight to Colombia. BAe saw Cayman Airways a potential customer, and I was fortunate to get a seat on the demonstration flight.

Absolutely beautiful work, congrats! Custom models are always fantastic, it fascinates me very much.
I've only succeeded in applying decals, only minor stuff...
