Al's airliner photo thread.

It was unfortunately closed for the duration of my stay, but I did visit the store in Orchard Plaza. Very pricey, but they do have some ridiculously valuable models...

I was lucky to catch Airplane Models SG on a Saturday. I also went to The Orchard Store, yeah...

Today, exactly two years ago I photographed An-124 RA-82046 at NUE while taxiing for take off for the short re-positioning flight to LEJ.
I couldn't imagine that this would be the airframe's last flight as only hours later Russia attacked the Ukraine and this airframe got grounded at LEJ where she still sits to this day.

Edit: it might be just my computer, but I cannot get the image to display (too large?)
Here's a smaller copy...

Finally snapped a good pic of HL7428, last 744 pax in the country. It'll be retired at the end of this month.

HL8250 was brand new when I flew on it, now it's over a decade old. Time flies!

Cathay 359s usually land on the other runway, so I was lucky to have grabbed this shot.

Found the time to take the cam out with me once again. First stop: MUC.
Early morning with some fog - should be perfect conditions for panning, but not when shooting in between two lines of barbwire...
Seen here arriving from Tbilisi is Lufthansa's livery "freak" A321neo D-AIEE.
Even though it was painted in late 2019, EE sports the infamous 2018's tail logo. None of its sisters do.

9V-SMH got stranded the day before due to technical and is seen here getting ready for the ferry home as SQ9327

As soon as the sun rises higher heat haze turns photographs into crap and I moved on - spotting at today's big modern airports isn't my cup of tea anyways.
One last one is D-AIAS on the way to Tenerife. How many lines and stripes do you count?😵‍💫

Lunch break at IGS waiting for a special flight from Vigo to arrive.
But first two of the choppers coming in from their pre-delivery test/training/acceptance routine with Airbus Helicopters.
First is one of the two H145M for Cyprus, D-HBKZ, to become "19-56".

Was expecting this beauty to come in lower so got the wrong lens on for this H145, D-HBKY, to be delivered to Garuda Mongolia as JU-6999

Finally the expected Metroliner of Flightline, EC-GJM arrived from Vigo and it was time for me to move on for a longer break...

...before visiting my "homebase" - late/night flight was scheduled. A single take off there thrills me more than a full day at MUC to be honest.

Good stuff Alex, makes me wan to go out spotting again. Coincidentally a friend reached out to me to see if I was up for a trip to IAH tomorrow. Not a chance, mom is out of the house for the weekend so I'm on double duty.

Runway direction was inverted for a few hours, so I managed to grab some decent takeoff shots... Starting with one of this UPS 748F.

CX453 is normally operated by a 333, so it was a pleasant surprise to see a 359 PIP instead.

There are two 767s still in service with OZ. This one's a freighter, while the other is for pax.

Finally caught HL7783 wearing the ever-classy Skyteam livery.

Almost missed the bus for my first Eva Air pic, but it was well worth the effort.

Turkish 77W from Istanbul. Heavy traffic at ICN pretty much dries up after this flight lands.

A unicorn in this day and age: FedEx MD-11. Panning shots from this angle are tough to nail because the plane has just started accelerating, but this didn't turn out too bad.

Wrapping things up with the Queen, looking shiny with a fresh coat of paint.
