3D Printed Model Airports

How do you find the height dimensions of the terminals? Also, how do you get the curves on the roof of RDU so well?
I use Google Earth for all measurements, and when that’s not available I use images to accurately determine the height of a building.

RDU was actually a fairly simple airport to model, modern designs like this are often quicker than a more traditional terminal.

I got the height for Indianapolis by comparing to known dimensions, such as the height of aircraft parked at the gates, or the marked clearance dimensions on the passageways underneath. Also, my dad used to work the ramp at IND and indicated that the height of a baggage cart is about 6 feet. So that was another point of reference. Fixed the height of the main deck floor above the ramp, then established the overall height of the structure in proportion to that. But I suppose my process was a little more involved since my terminal no longer exists. For buildings that still exist, there are 3D models in Google Earth and you can zoom in down to ground level and measure them directly with the included tools! The old parking garage is still standing, so I was able to measure it that way.
