(2022) 1/400 UK Model Airport

Hello. The purpose of this airport will eventually focus on modern day movements with a small flow of international destinations for passengers as well as a focus for cargo movements.

In the meantime, I want to go back in time once again with a main focus on key dates based on movements from Doncaster airport since it opened in 2005, although some movements will not focus from Doncaster. However, I do wish to showcase some models even before that time on this diorama. The main focus will be that of cargo.

We start with a general observation of the airport itself and a visit from Cargolux B747-400F LX-ICV City of Ettelbruck in July 1996

Very nice is that 747 1:500 ?

No, it's a Dragon Wings model in 1:400 scale.
Quite ancient model but very cool. Cockpit windows are kinda too small though.

BTW, there's a Cargolux B747-200F in scale 1:500 made by Starjets (Gemini Jets brand for 500 scale) which was sadly not done in 1:400

That is a really nice amd realistic layout. Look forward to seeing some freighter movements.

Dragon made some great 747s but you're right sometimes they printed the cockpits too small.

On 6th November 2002 we had a night stop visit from this FedEx DC-10-30F N98FE which would then continue on ferry flight to Venice
