Did herpa lose some of their licenses ? Because they did make a WIZZ air A320, Singapore Airlines models (although they are Kris shop exclusives) and some ITA airways models in the past. Yes, ITA airways did join the Lufthansa Group so maybe it has something to do with it ?
ITA Airways: now the italian airline is under Lufthansa Group so this is an interim period. But Lufthansa is Herpa workhorseso i can't understand where is the problem of producing some of the most beautiful airplanes of the sky 8because of the stunning livery). But, on other hands, even Brussels Airlines is under Lufthansa Group and also Brussels Airlines is on Herpa black list. Herpa asks too much money to airlines? No more trust in 1:500 market? Who knows.
Singapore Airlines: yes, some models produced for Kris shop (Singapore Airlines inflight shop) but it is an exlcusive selling and we need of regular production.
Wizz Air: great happiness after the A320ceo production and the announce of the next models: A321neo, A321ceo, A320neo. Then in few months everything changes and now Herpa seems to having lost Wizz Air license.
Binter Canarias and Helvetic Airlines: these two airlines have already bene produced by Herpa with, respectively, ATR-72 and Fokker 100 old and new/latest livery; then Herpa announced the E195-E2 saying that both airlines would have been updated to the new airplane (both flies the E195-E2).
Porter Airlines: even flying the E195-E2 Herpa doesn't have the license.
Jet2.com/Jet2holidays: a Jet2.com B737-800WL has been produced (ten items bought by me!) then even this license disappeared.
Il-86/Il-96/SSJ-100: three WONDERFUL moulds for three WONDERFUL airplanes, Herpa produced many models than, great mistery, stopped everything.
TU-154: now seems to be a pause on the production of this model but i don't care so much because Herpa Tu-154 mould Is a crap, wrong on the nose section/cockpit window exactly like the A350-900 mould. I wrote a lor about both Tu-154 and A350-900 moulds.
Neos: Herpa produced the wonderful B787-9 then said that the MAX8 would have been produced if the sale of the B787-9 would have been good. No more news about Neos...
So i think that a C-17, C-5A, A400M sell better that a Neos B787-9. Mistery of Herpa market and mistery of 1:500 scale!
B767-400: marvellous mould, still Delta and United latest livery to produce but Herpa announced that "the mould was broken"...i noticed that very often the best Herpa mould have been "broken" and never repaired/updated. Mah...
DC-10/MD-11/L-1011: not Inflight500 or Starjets level but the only moulds in 1:500 scale since the demise of all other competitors. Many models to produce but, like usual for Herpa, the manufacturer stopped the production of these widebodies.
So, i am crazy and boring and i am annoying so much like many collectors writing in a dead forum ending for "900" say (not considering the lack of respect, but i have "very large shoulders", lucky them, they settle for a few crumbs that cost 45/50 euros each), and maybe it is right and some of you, 1:500 fellow collectors, could think the same: but i can't be happy when Herpa announces two-three re-releases, C-17/C-5/A400, the fourth An-225, the fourth LOT Il-18, the 20th Emirates A380 (i am sure Herpa will win a Cup producing all the Emirates A380 in fleet!), three Lufthansa models! I can't be happy when too many airlines born and die without Boeing reproduced in 1:500 scale, when too many fundamental leisure/charter/low cost airlines are the backbone of European civil aviation world while in 1:500 scale are not represented.
