Hi friends and follow 1:500 collectors.
It seems that 1:500 world will have a new manufacturer and, at the same time, Herpa could have a new competitor: AETHER MODEL. This unknown manufacturer announced to produce three B787-9 starting in October 2025: Eva Air, Neos and Korean Air B787-9. Nothing more known: no nationality, no price, no mould type, no news about who will sell the models (main retailers like Aviation Center Berlin, Aviationmegastore and so on, website directly, other ways).
Who knows? In Italy we say "who will live will see"!
Unfortunately i am collecting since too many years (about 30 years) not to be skeptical about everything around 1:500 scale! Inflight easyJet B737-700s announced and then deleted when easyJet was flying the model; Sky500 announcing beautiful models and then suddenly disappearing; Herpa announcing Tu-214-300, Lauda Air A320, Sudan Airways A300 and then deleting everything; StarJets ready to produce Alitalia MD-11 and then deleting it...and so on.
I hope for a new manufacturer in 1:500 scale, we need It, but October is very far...

So, are they supposed to bring regular releases? If yes, that's wonderful news to 1:500 scale!

I hope this manufacturer is strong enough to survive. I don't know if it Is working respecting license laws, but the start is impressive. Three models Herpa will never produce, especially true for Eva Air and Korean Air. But, owning Sky500 moulds, i hope for a wave of narrowbodies, A320, B737-700/800, MD-83, and not all from South-East Asia, Asia and People Republic of China. Sky500 produced many A320 from Asia...
Just imagine and easyJet A320 and/or a Ryanair B737-800WL!

Just to share and much more than a wishlist, it could be possible that this manufacturer would make a great start (already done with these three models, NON re-releases but airlines forgotten by Herpa and by its necessity to play respecting licensing rules) saturating 1:500 scale with more B787s never produced or no more produced. I wonder if the JAL B787-8/9 will be the next! In 1:500 we have just a Hogan B787-8 with "inflight configuration wings" and JCWings 1:500 "Torch Relay" livery.
P.S. About the "inflight configuration wings" i really don't understand the manufacturer's consideration about It: if you are producing a model with a landing gear, why to produce the wingflex of inflight configuration? In my opinion It Is a ruined model, and the same for the otherwise spectacular NCA-Nippon Cargo Airlines B747-8F by Hogan.
