Digging the Frontier 732 boxes 😍.

    A NASA Kind of Day

I believe JC will pump those out relatively quickly (for JC standards). Not to state the obvious, but Patriot will take the upper hand. Not only are they using the superior HX mold, but it also comes with the Patriot "premiumness." JC will be a nice alternative for collectors who want...

    Jacob’s “Model Mondays”

I thought the same. These C models, when purchased through Panda, have a markup. Either AMS liquidated it below cost, or they got it straight from C Models.

    A NASA Kind of Day

Houston, we have a problem… Only a short drive away from the resting place of the real N905NA old and new replicas of the aircraft meet. I have to say that the legendary BigBird mold (JC) holds up quite well against the new darling HX (Patriot) *Please Note* These still appear as pre orders on...

    Jacob’s “Model Mondays”

This one is super nice. I stocked a few when I first opened the shop. They didn't last long. I did a comparison photoshoot with and NG one, but never got around to publishing it. I'm no expert, but my perception is that there are subtle variations to the "Boeing narrow body nose." I want to...

    Bake's 1:400 Collection

The gear doors on the Dash 8-100/200/300 are correct on both GJ and 3DD models. The gear doors are attached to the engine housing and these are not side specific. It’s like the access panels and such on jet engines, they are always on the same side of the engine regardless of which side of the...

    Show Your Latest 1:400 Purchase

I sent one of mine back to the distributor because of how badly the cockpit windows were positioned. JC does need to make some serious internal changes, I hope the market drives them to do that.

What aircraft that you’ve flown exist as models?

I don’t think they purposely set out to scam people. Sounds like the business was badly run and they ended up in a position where they couldn’t answer to customer.

Are the GeminiJets MD-80 and 737-500 worth getting?

Comparing model colors using photos has a myriad of limitations, but I don’t think the color is bad though. I got to see a number of Battleship grey birds in real life, and when I look at this model it does not hurt my eyes. I am kind of regretting not keeping one for myself.

    March Model Madness

Not related to sports, but to the issue with the Breeze livery. I was looking at it, and not really knowing all the details of the manufacturing process, I would imagine that the dark blue section of the aft fuselage is painted (Printed?) before everything else on top is applied, including the...

    March Model Madness

I did a couple of sports charters during my regional days. One as an F/O and one as a Captain, both on the E-175. Lots of free food, I remember 🤣. Very fun flying. Very nice post with a mention of Panda and all. 👏

Yu ModeL New Airbus A300 First Look

Yes. Phantom implied in an earlier comment that classics A300s had ailerons close to the wing tips. The -600s didn’t. The issue is when -600 overwing markings are printed on the wings of classics A300s. This offense effectively covers the outboard ailerons with corogard, which is serious. Of...

Yu ModeL New Airbus A300 First Look

Mind you, Alex, I am not sure that even the majority of A300 pilots who have flown both variants are aware of how the overwing markings change as a result of the disappearance of the outboard ailerons. I also understand - quite well, actually - that pilots are far from being the main target...

Yu ModeL New Airbus A300 First Look

I did bring this up to YU, and they were very receptive and seemed to understand the issue. It is not easy to convey a technical issue in a third language, though I think he got it. I doubt the Pan Am and Niuguini examples will be modified, but I am hopeful going forward.
