A replacement for the unfortunately broken GeminiJets American 737 MAX 8, which they didn't have a replacement of: this GeminiJets United 727-100 N7001U. Props to Steve at Grayland Station for letting me get a free replacement while a) having bought the broken model five days ago and b) not having a receipt.

Couldn't find real pics of N7001U in the saul bass livery (she was the first 727 built and all I can find is photos of her in the Stars and Bars livery in her preserved form.) Here's a photo of her sister, N7004U

My biggest domestic addition to the East Asia fleet showed up this week - the ANA 737-800 by AeroPolaris. Unfortunately it arrived busted, so I've struck out twice on my last two ANA acquisitions with detached wings.

AP models haven't come broken much from what I've seen, but this looked to be an issue on shipping and the retailer. Waffle packs his models incredibly tight and this one fell victim unfortunately.

You know how I pack. I am not as generous as JetCollector, but not as frugal as Waffle. Unfortunately, customers inform me of broken models all the time… it just happens.

Lovely model. I like ANA’s Blue Triton livery. Hopefully they keep it for a long time, it’s already one of the most long-lived liveries.

JetCollector packs WAAAAAAY too well. Thankfully the peanuts are bio-degradable :)

New 3 pack arrival from Yankeevictor: Year of horse A359 from NG, Westjet Q400 from Gemini, and EmerCon IL-62 from Phoenix. Wow just wow, so so good. Especially the Q400 from gemini, how can they make such a small model so delicate (like the small front gear) and so detailed, simply incredible. First time getting the PH il-62 as well, very good, I paritcuarly like the painted gear.

Dave runs a good business; he's my guiding light. The packing peanuts system is efficient (from a retailer's point of view), and it does offer a lot of protection against impact. But it is not foolproof. It does not offer water protection, and I have had open-top Aeroclassics boxes tangle with each other and get ripped.

I did try to use packing peanuts as my go-to cushioning/filling material, but they are expensive and difficult to store. My standard is packing paper, but if you catch me shortly after receiving an Aeroclassics Direct shipment (which dispatches out of the JetCollector - and Flying Mule - location), you will get some of those packing peanuts from Grass Valley 🙂.
