V1:400 Models - A New US 400 Scale Brand

I'd love to see some 727-200s, 767-200s and 767-300s in the United Airlines Saul Bass and Battleship Grey liveries on these modern moulds.
I'd also love to see more A320s and 737 Classics using the Panda Models mould in 90s-00s US carrier liveries (Northwest, United Saul Bass / Battleship Grey, US Airways, etc.).
Oh yes. I think there's going to be a lot of older models hitting ebay if that happens...

Panda Models has some great moulds, but under-utilizes them. The A340, 737-300/400 and MD-11 immediately come to mind. I'd love to see some Swissair and KLMs on the Panda MD-11 mould.

It also seems to me that Panda is taking too long to release their own models. All the recent releases come from other brands using Panda moulds instead of Panda themselves using them
Panda has almost stopped making models under its own brand name. Almost everything they do now is for others.

By the way I don't mean to be too much of a tease but Panda just sent me through photos of 7 of the 8 767-200s we're getting made and I can confirm they all look gorgeous!! The first release set will include 6 767-200s :)

Also @qweyrhgf I've made contact with at least 2 Chinese sources so I'm hopeful the models will be available in China

Thank you for contacting.
But, it's a shame that PM has stopped producing its own brand models. :(

Panda's 737 Classic molds seem to be pretty good also. What would you think about Pro Air? They were a small outfit out of Detroit City and started out with 2 brand-new 737-400s (their Boeing customer code was 9R), N460PR with an orange tail and N461PR in green. They later picked up N462PR on the secondhand market and gave it a blue/purple tail (that was the one that I saw the most at IND) as well as ex-Garuda Indonesia -3U3 N360PR with a yellow tail. They contracted with United's Indianapolis facility for their maintenance. They only lasted for about 3 or 4 years (a 9/11 casualty), but I enjoyed seeing their different colored tails and they served IND (thanks to their maintenance contract with UA) and they would be a welcome addition to my collection. In fact, this is one I wouldn't mind getting done custom if you decide it's not a fit for you.

I have a list of 737s I'd like to get made if I get a chance to order anymore. I'm familiar with Pro Air but I admit they weren't high on my list, although they are a possibility. Probably getting a bit ahead of ourselves to be honest. These models need to sell well first

@YesterAirlines Just curious, how much does it cost to have a custom model made by a manufacturer?🤔

I can't really give you that information. There are a lot of variables - size of production run, mould in question, complexity of livery, whether the model is polished or not, the number of models being made overall, addition of aerials (and how many), packaging style, need for stand and lastly how tough you negotiate! Then all of these things can be different with different manufacturers too.

I can say that generally the larger the runs the cheaper the unit price. I can also say that the 767s we're making all had the same unit price, but the 727 and DC-9 pricing was variable depending on livery and polishing.

In my experience (not just with this project) the price per unit can vary anywhere between $16 and $29.

One day I hope for a Qantas 734 in the original '84-07 colours. An absolute workhorse of the Australian domestic fleet for a quarter century and never produced. My Hobby House in Malaysia did one via Panda but in the post 2007 scheme...

If there is also access to the Panda 737-400 mould it would be nice to finally have the British Airways with the Scottish tail and the CSA made.

How about a complete set of Braniff Ultra 727s? AC didn't do all of the colors, and the ones they did do had the striping done incorrectly on the engines. I especially would love to see the one-off N404BN in Sparkling Burgundy with red trim.
