Show Your Latest 1:400 Purchase

Hi all,

in general I stuck to my new year resolution of buying lesser planes than last year, but a few new arrivals now and then can’t hurt… 😉

NG Models 787-10. As I was flying on one of those recently, this model was a must.

This A330 release from Phoenix was a great addition to my African fleet. To good to resist…

That I found this gem here made me extremely happy - by just a random look into eBay I found this 787-8 from Phoenix, even for a really fair price. I wanted this plane so bad for my Ethiopian fleet but they got really rare. I already accepted the thought of not having it, but then good luck hit me. 😁

A long awaited A350 from NG!
Starlux Airlines A350-900 B-58503

Oh look - two Airlines that K.W. Chang(Starlux founder) involved in!
20230710_020854.jpg
For those who don't know, K.W. Chang is the son of EVA Air's founder Chang Yung-fa and Y.F. Chang's second wife. K.W. Chang worked in EVA Air since 1996 and are seen as the de-facto successor of his dad. He was removed from the company in 2016 after his three senior brothers (All of the three brothers are given birth by Y.F. Chang's first wife) decided to kick him out from the family business after Y.F. Chang's death.

The Starlux livery is very classy and striking, - good to see this in modern days, when airlines are always coming up with bland liveries.
That EVA Air livery is also a favorite of mine, and looks better than their current one. The Jumbo looks amazing in that scheme, I just wish they had chosen green engines instead of white.

2nd 1:400 model of mine.
Gemini jets 777-300er Emirates on the JC wings mould.

Lets just say this thing has its issues: top antenna is around the wrong way, one landing gear bogey doesn't tilt and one of the horizontal stabilisers is loose and will detach if you are not careful.

The coolest thing about this plane though has to be the weight, compared to the NG a330 in the back this thing is stupid heavy and I thought the a330 was stupid heavy.

Reason for getting it was due to the sheer amount of times I have seen these planes and have flown on 4 of them.

The SkyTeam is a great find, glad you managed to get one!

Beautiful model! I’m hoping I’ll find one to add to my Delta collection soon
Check the facebook market in your area, I've found 2 older releases that cost quite a bit more to get on ebay, I got a GJ DHL 727-200 for $30 CAD, and then I also got this 767 for 50 CAD.

You might get lucky on facebook :)
I can't get over how nice the polish is on the belly

Good idea! I didn’t even think to check facebook. Thanks!

Picked up these four from CAMAUST this morning. Super happy with all of them. Out of my 5 preorders from the NG’s February release, only the Air India 787 is yet to arrive. Quite a long delay but better late than never. The Xiamen is from the CRP, I was surprised by how smooth the whole process went.

Is the Xiamen a CRP Exclusive? also how viable would it be for me to order models from CAMAUST. (i live in the philippines)

Not an exclusive, and it’s still listed as in stock on NG’s database so it will probably be available in the next CRP run.

If I were you I wouldn’t order from CAMAUST when there are other options. Don’t get me wrong, they are a great retailer and the staff are super friendly, but they are very expensive. In terms of retailers closer to you I would recommend My Hobby House. Great range, great service and much better prices.
