Show Your Latest 1:400 Purchase

I definitely need to get more United models, the new livery in my opinion, is stunning. Graceful yet modern, and I am glad the connection to Continental remains on the tail.

On another note, my quest for Icelandair models took a huge leap forward, at least in my mind. Tuesday I stumbled upon a new post on eBay for this Herpa Wings Icelandair 757-200 Aurora1/400 scale. It was listed at a price I was willing to pay and it's new. I can't wait for it's arrival

And here we have the long-coveted American 767-200 by NG Models! N313AA currently operates as a freighter for Air Transport International as N255CM, hence the background image in the last shot (taken by me).

She looks even more stunning under the big blue Texas sky, where she once proudly soared.

NG are making a lot of Chinese airliners and some really nice colourful special schemes. I find China has a much better selection of special liveries than other nations. They often represent special events or geographic locations. Even when they are advertising something commercial, like the IHG here, the schemes are often, not always I admit but often, quite classy.

The A321 is especially attractive:

Really nice models. There is no doubt Chinese do special liveries the best. Tempting to pick up that Hainan 787 now. Thanks for sharing as always Richard.

A couple of arrivals from the last several days:

Firstly, a model that was not high in my to-buy list but the attractive price could not hold me from it: United States Marine Boeing C-40A Clipper 170041 by PandaModels.

One of the rarer NG new release I got - I am always amazed at the detail level of the brand, which surely lives up with their name “Next Generation” - introducing QantasFreight Airbus A330-202(P2F) VH-EBE. I am glad that I waited for this scheme as I am not really a fan of the Express Australia.

Next, a pair of my flag carriers - one of the older original release by GeminiJets. Like the Clipper, I snatched the B777 for its good price. The A321 was a best offer and I missed the mark by twice, only able to get it in the 3rd try. I have not considered adding these 2 models before due to their scarcity and high command price. First up with the main narrowbody jet of the fleet - Vietnam Airlines Airbus A321-211 VN-A343. Only a few machines in VN A320ceo family fleet got the CFM and the majority used the longer-cowling IAE V2500.

Multiple engine types for the same aircraft family operated by VN actually not only existed by the A320ceo family but also on the longhaul flagship Triple Seven. The first batch which are leased from GECAS (hence the Boeing code Q8) got the GE90 whereas the later batch owned directly by VN were powered by PW4000. Here is the Vietnam Airlines Boeing 777-2Q8/ER VN-A141.

Very late to the party but I finally got myself United's flagship - N2331U "New Spirit of United" by NG. Wouldn't have hesitated for this long if I knew how close to perfection she was

Interestingly, she rolled out of Everett bearing the reg # N58031, the reg scheme of Continental frames (fun fact: CO originally planned to use the N58### series for their 767-300s, but never took them up). Her original fleet number, 0031, also followed the format of ex-CO 777s, before being reassigned to 2131 following re-registration. She is the "New Spirit of United" not the "Old Spirit of Continental" after all, although as a Houstonian I sure won't mind the latter :p

The second being the A340-300 Virgin Atlantic beautiful and flawless. Next expected arrival is a 747-400 Virgin Atlantic model due this week.IMG_20240810_162716.jpgIMG_20240810_162716.jpgIMG_20240810_162749.jpgIMG_20240810_162455.jpgIMG_20240810_162455 (1).jpg

Beautiful model. Your pictures with a diorama environment are very cool!

Where did u find those Olympics? Those models looks amazing
The one with the solid cheatline is a new Aeroclassics release. The others were released by Aeroclassics or Bigbird in mid-2000s. I acquired them from various collection sales. The various livery variations all look amazing!
