Show your Latest 1:200 Purchase

Latest pre-order to wrap up my 1:200 KE widebody collection. Super stoked for this, since it'll be my first GJ200 and I've flown on HL7784 before.

I saw this model in the release announcements and it immediately made me think of you! I am excited to see this arrive, the QF A333 from the same release is a tempting first permanent 1:200 model for me!

Hah, funny how I thought of you as soon as I saw the QF! I've been looking for a QF A333 so it's tempting for sure, but I think I'll just get the NG that's coming later this year. I think any Aussie collector wouldn't regret getting both though.

Korean Air A330-300 (HL8001) from JFox/Inflight200. It's quite rare to unbox a model and immediately go "wow," but this was one of those cases...

Mould nails the look of the A333, nothing more to be said. The vertical stabilizer looks too tall and straight in photos, but I can assure you it's spot-on in person.

What's more impressive are the minute details. The flap links being moulded in blew me away, as I've never seen this level of detail on any other 1:200.

The biggest highlights are the paint and printing. The colors are vivid and crisp, with a lovely metallic sheen that catches the light brilliantly. The paint "glows" for lack of a better term, making my other KEs look comparatively dull and flat. It's truly a match made in heaven for the colorful KE livery.

Overall, this is hands down my favorite 1:200. Impeccable mould, painting, printing and QC, with the only flaw (no reg. number on right wing) being easily remediable. I haven't dedicated this much time and effort to fixing a model before, so the end result makes me love the thing all the more.

I am yet to Purchase any 1:200 widebodies just because of the hefty price and there are not many i am interested in.

Tbh it's best to stick with NG, 1:200s these days don't offer more in terms of detail while being more expensive and having worse QC. Printing errors, paint chipping and wobbly removable gears are standard. That KE A333 is an exception.

Boeing-licensed 777-9X by Hogan. Used to have the 737NG, 77W and 789 as a kid, so this was a nice throwback purchase.

I think I forgot to post this here… it is way too hard too keep up with all the social media responsibilities 😂

Avensa DC-10-30 YV-69C InFlight200. First Avensa release in 1:200, so it was hard to pass.

Looks good, the tail logo is a tiny tad oversized (negligible really). Not a whole lot to mess up here. A nose cone outline wouldn’t hurt…
