RM model store - still a scam?

Is RM Model store Legit??
I got an email with a 25 percent coupon code and he states "same day shipping guaranteed"
They're a scam. They might have some of those 'rare' models in stock as advertised on the website, but getting them shipped to you is a battle. From what others have mentioned more recently, RM will only ship once threatened with a credit card claim, and even then, it's a 50/50 chance he'll respond.

I'll leave you with this as food for thought, he has scammed people out of hundreds and of dollars in the past (and had gone into hiding for a while before reappearing). If you Google his store, you'll find plenty of people sharing their experiences. I'm surprised the owner isn't in jail for fraud or that his business is still operatable with the number of claims opened against him.

Can confirm, they're back to their old ways. Had to file a credit card dispute with them because they wouldn't return any communications or ship the item. Which is surprising because a few months ago they were on top of chat and emails when I asked if certain items were in stock.

Now that this thread is rolling again, I have checked out their website... Someone stop me before I make a poor decision as they have some models I have been trying to find for a while :ROFLMAO:

Well duh, they need the customer to make a purchase in order to scam them. I hope you get your money back. RM is a pos.

My credit card refunded me the amount but then after, RM replied to my email and stated they’ll ship asap. I have a tracking number a day later I don’t mind paying as it’s a fair price…. but let’s see if anything actually arrives.

Be careful. It’s probably temporary credit and the case is still open. He’ll proceed to send proof to your credit card company that he shipped the item via the tracking number. Once it shows delivery, the case will be closed and your card will be rebilled. Now the question is whether he will have sent the actual products you ordered or something else or something broken attached to a valid tracking number showing delivery. If it’s the latter, you’ll have to reopen the closed case and prove that you received items not as described, which is an even bigger headache. Again, RM is a pos and a criminal. The few instances he’s come through don’t outweigh the dozens of customers he’s scammed.

My case closed. If it really arrives I don’t mind getting recharged for it. It’s AMEX so their customer service is top notch if he tries to send anything but what I ordered.

AMEX is top notch. I’m happy for you man. Side note Citi is the worst. A retailer sent me a defective model and wouldn’t respond to any emails. Case opened, then the retailer attempted to refund. The refund didn’t go through due to a processing error on their side, and was even indicated in the screenshot he had sent to me when he asked me to close the case. Retailer said I had to close the case for the refund to go through (sounds kinda sketchy right?). Citi proceeds to side with the retailer stating that he initiated a refund, even though the screenshot literally said “refund unable to process.” Case was closed. Didn’t even bother appealing over a $45 model.

Agreed I’ve only heard horror stories about Citi. I avoid putting anything big or important on it these days

So with that I gave them a try. I first asked them to send me actual photos of the models I wanted to order. Surprisingly they did send over the photos with the models taken together just to see if they were not lying and faking up photos. I then placed the order and in communication throughout the course with them thru live chat on the shipping progress. Within a few days later they sent over a UPS tracking number and the package arrived with the models ordered.

Couple months later I placed another order with them. Before placing I was chatting with them live thru their site and based on their prompt responses thru live chat I decided to give them another try. Just like the first order and very fortunate that the models arrived safely without issues.

Very curious how this store operates. At a time they can be honest and another time being a scammer.

Has anyone been scammed by them recently? I never order from them again since last year.

If your lady cheats on you once or twice a year but is loyal the other 363-364 days, would you stay with her? No!!!

If you have to take a gamble each time ordering with RM, why bother? Is that one model worth the headache of being scammed? There are also scammers who purposefully build people's trust before pulling the trigger once the victim goes all in.

Well I’ll be the first to admit my surprise, the order ended up showing up after all. And the model was in new condition. Not sure why they have to run such a wishy washy business model if they do indeed seem to have stock of what their website shows.
