Phoenix Models April 2025 release hints

Fantastic Topical set of releases
As usual - PHX is always the earliest to announce many of these.

4 Quadjets coming my way for sure
And if it looks right, the Maldivian

Otherwise many others I will wait for from elsewhere

Bit of a letdown to see the Iberia A340. I could swear it would be an Air Comet 😂😆
By the way, I wasn't expecting a Finnair MD-80 at all. I didn't know Phoenix (still) had the mould.

Anyways, Phoenix still have the best releases out there! Fantastic work!

As much as I too would love an Air Comet (I was the first to suggest this here on the thread Hehe), I welcome the Iberia, frankly.

Iberia was a significant long-term A343 operator, along with LH.

We've had a GJ version a few years ago on the poor GJ/JC mould (which I also own a copy of), and iirc there's not been a PHX version in a long time, if at all.

There's a Hogan version I think, which I too probably have - I'm not too sure now (I need to really document my collection now properly lol).

And I don't think there ever was a Panda version.
Recently there was an Aeroclassics version, but that one's kinda obsolete imo unfortunately - no aerials etc, landing gear makes the fuselage sit flat and not nose down, besides them not being so detailed, plus the average print details and QC. After much contemplation, I didn't pick it up.

Thus this makes it a much needed release or re-release if you like, on a Modern mould - the best one currently available.

Yes, great points! It's indeed a very welcome release, in the end :)

Great release for sure. I’m interested in the BoA A330 since I saw her tail at MIA a few months ago. I don’t know what I’m going to do with the Delta 100 Years models, because NG just announced theirs, Panda has theirs announced too, I thought AV400 was doing the A350 (though wouldn’t be surprised if they do that, if they haven’t announced it yet), and then Gemini Jets will likely announce theirs in a timely manner.

Lot of options to consider on that front but I need to keep saving up! Just ordered a few models last night so I need to stop spending.

This batch is pretty nice the two Swiss models are perfect Also that Air Pacific livery is very flamboyant looks like Liquorice allsorts
Iberia a340 is acceptable but air comet would have been better.

love this set of releases. will be ordering the following:
1. Swiss A330 (flown ZRH-YYZ) - was unable to find the previous NG release for sale after flying in oct 2024
2. Edelweiss A320 (flown ZRH - Santorini)
3. Finnair MD-82 (can't get enough mad dogs from 1990s-2000s)
4. VarigLog MD-11 (always a soft spot for any Brazilian tri-holer)
5. Russia Il-96-400 (interesting` story that it was converted from freighter back into passenger carrying VVIP duty)

I don't recall any black nosed Iberia A343 in 1:400 scale, so this is most welcomed. I think Phoenix themselves didn't know they still had their MD-80 mold. It'd be nice to see it with updated gear and antennas, could very well overshadow JC's.

Aeroclassics released another Iberia A343 not long ago, but none have been in the delivery markings.

GJ has been on an SM campaign about their relationship with Delta all last week, so you bet they will also announce them. I will only be stocking the Panda offerings though... talk about market flooding.

NG probably will do okay since there are a lot of collectors who automatically assume that anything with the NG logo on it is the best. GJ will probably also do well selling through the Delta store and other official channels. I guess that leaves Panda and Phoenix aiming for people "in-the-know," and I think Panda will be the winner here.

Yep I did mention that :)

Yessssss which makes this a first time in 1:400! And that black nose tip really adds that little bit extra!

I'm thrilled to see 3 A340 variants in one release set! And with the il-96-4, that's a fabulous quad of quadjets! These 4 are definitely coming home.

I already own a previous large titles SQ A345 from PHX -an earlier release from almost a decade or so ago, though lacking aerials. So will be glad to add my third SQ A345!
