NG Model 1:400 October 2025 Release Hint

Maybe it’s just me, but even with a massive release like this, I’m even more unimpressed than ever. 40 planes, yet such a massive chunk are from the same airlines, with endless variations of the same aircraft types. And this continued obsession of covering every little special livery that is out there, whether it be from China, America, Taiwan, South Korea, etc, has gotten old so quickly in my view. Back in 2019/20/21, NG’s release were so fresh, because they were willing to cover such a wide and extensive variety of airlines. Now, combined with the fact that they basically tell us months in advance what they’re gonna be releasing, the batches of new releases are even more predictable than Gemini. At the end of the day, I get that China, and East Asia as a whole, is their biggest market, so it isn’t too surprising that they cater to collectors from that region, but even the U.S. models that they have released lately have been very lackluster. Not everyone wants every special livery that exists, and not everyone wants two or three of the same aircraft type from the same airline.

I will also add, there’s a shortage of high quality models on good moulds from a huge variety of popular carriers from outside East Asia and the United States. Turkish, British Airways, SWISS, EgyptAir, Iberia, Royal Jordanian, ITA, Air Canada, LOT, Air Astana, etc, are all widely untouched by NG, with few or no releases. EgyptAir for example, is a carrier that I have been dying to see some releases from, and the best NG could do was a Star Alliance special on an A330. Probably one of the least desirable aircraft in the entire EgyptAir fleet to collect. Turkish has a massive and diverse fleet, yet if I’m not mistaken NG simply made a bunch of 777’s and an A330. It’s just disappointing to see how much good stuff they leave on the table so that they can make like 10 different Xiamen 737’s or every A350 in the Sichuan fleet.

May I also mention that even carriers within East Asia are being ignored? Not any old carrier, but ANA has been completely ignored, only receiving rereleases.

Seemingly, NG is relying a lot on the CRP for international, non-US releases, as one can see.
And they also don't seem to care as much for 'current' or 'topical' releases - or will announce them only when the artwork is ready, unlike say JC or PHX, who make an announcement via photos, and then make us wait - in JC's case - indefinitely lol.
I too wish to see an Egyptair A330, for instance, and Turkish A330s & A350s, amongst many others. Maybe someone needs to make a wish?

I will agree to an extent on this. NG has quite the obsession of duplicating planes, and it gets boring seeing the same planes over and over, though I see them wanting to maximize usage of the production, and the different stickers, registrations, and other minor livery variations allows them to make the most out of a subject matter. It does get repetitive at times like with the American MD-80, but I would believe that there are collectors who want a specific sticker or even a specific tail number (myself included on the latter) so they’re trying to cater to all collectors for a specific airline, but yes they take this to the extreme.

NG’s future releases are a response to the backlash they often get for making the same airlines. A lot of what they have in the backlog is really good so they are starting to utilize the wishlist system well and I’ve noticed more positive remarks about the brand.
but even the U.S. models that they have released lately have been very lackluster
I think this release was better for US collectors this month with the likes of Hawaiian, JetBlue, and Delta. Granted they’ve made the latter before but the larger titles is justified for another Delta A319. An MD-80 or Tristar would’ve been even better but at this stage we’ll take what we can get.

So many airlines I also hope they will cover. But they might see what other brands are doing and they’ll step away from it. I mean even in the U.S. they haven’t done Frontier, Allegiant, or Avelo — all I think would be hot sellers in the market

My annoyance is for the Tropical 747 - why almost everyone with 744 mould all decided that making one at this time is a good idea😐😐

We have HX and APOLLO all shipped out their's to stores just few months ago while JC just had their's completed and ready for shipping - and now NG decided that they should too...

What annoys me most is that nobody has bothered with Tropical 747 for like over a decade - with BB Mk3 being the previous version before this "Tropical" boom...🙄🙄🙄

it's very annoying indeed. This have also happened with the prototype Boeing 747 N7470

The Frontier A318s are a good mention and appreciated. That said I think their production boils down somewhat to the A318 not having very many operators.

I think it kind of made the demand greater. It shows that NG acknowledges and recognizes Frontier. In my thinking, if they can make an A318, they can make the rest of the fleet. I can’t be the only one who thinks that way right?
