NG Model 1:400 June 2025 Release Hints

I prefer to have something that at least somewhow looks like a 777 which I can't say of their new 777 from ever other angle than side on.
Did you try what I suggested in a recent discussion?
What did you suggest and how does it looks like a 777? Please explain how does NG old mould looks better and represent more accurately the 777 than the new one.

Regarding the APU:
(left) = printed APU on the old rounded mould (F-GSQG AF77W)
(right) = new APU featuring 3D hole and not 2D printed drawing (B-KQW CX77W):

Seems like a good idea but how do you do that? What do you mean by copying the cockpit artwork to decal it?
If you don't have any 3D-scanners at hand, do it old school: clear masking tape over the cockpit, draw along the outlines with a fineliner pen (ideally with steady hands and a watchmakers loup), transfer tape to a sheet of paper, scan it into a drawing app and either vectorise or redraw it. Print it onto decal.

Two tail cones - two different stories deceptively subtle - but not so.

Air China 77W Dream Pursuer vs Eva Air San Rio

The tailcone is great on the Dream Pursuer - subtly moulded and not claw-like

I don’t have the ability to print decals. The most practical way for me is to hand draw the cockpit windows directly which I often do when I don’t like the manufacture printing but this is not 100% accurate. That’s why I decided to edit NG official pictures.
Here is a comparaison of:
- Cathay 77W (new mould with nose issue probably due to polishing, as mentioned earlier)
- Air China 77W (new mould without nose issue)
- Korean 77W (old mould)

As you may notice, both mould are compared using the same cockpit window cut from the same picture. Even though KAL one has the real cockpit windows, the flat front and the nose shape still makes this model unrealistic. Air China and Cathay are by far better looking and more accurate!

I also decided to add another image, but this time I directly edited NG printing by resizing the separated windows (bellow is the original unedited one):

Objectively, Air China 77W is the closest to real life. In conclusion, NG’s new mould is the most accurate one. NG just have to print accurate cockpit windows and the problem is solved

Who find this realistic and better than the new version? (this is not about the printing)
As an owner of some older NG 777s, I think this nose is dogsh*t and is precisely the reason why I stopped buying their 777s. The revamped nose is a step in the right direction but still not great. Panda nailed section 41 on their Delta 763; a 777 mould with Panda's 767 nose would be the gold standard IMO.2.jpg3.jpg
