NG Model 1:400 July 2025 Release Hints

They just announced quite a few N models for 1:200, so the tariffs thing can’t really be much of excuse for lesser N- reg releases 🧐

Interesting point. You could probably argue 200 scale collectors are possibly likely to be more impervious to price rises (as they are likely to be older and earn more I'd have thought) than average 400 scale collectors, but hard to say for sure.
You do bring up a valid perspective. I’d be curious to see if they start putting more N regs in future 1:400 batches after some of the backlash they’ve gotten lately.
I doubt NG recognise a backlash from Americans or care about it to be honest.

If they added a European release last month after all that from their backlog, I think it’s reasonable to assume the same if American collectors were to be upset.
We don't know they did. Reading the tea leaves into NG's random decision making is something people do way too much. They regularly have been adding models into release sets in recent times at short notice. I haven't seen or heard anything to suggest the addition was due to comments from collectors. It may have been but just as likely wasn't and we have no way of knowing whether it was.

I think it’s too coincidental to say it wasn’t because of the comments in this scenario. While they also added in that 787 alongside the German A320, I think part of that might have also been influenced by the comments on social media. As mentioned they probably have a lot of models in the backlog, so it’s easy to slap on last-minute additions just because, but it’s also easy to do that if enough of a stink is made by collectors.

While it could’ve been either way, their Instagram post had a lot of negative comments about the lack of geographical diversity. I don’t know much about what collectors said on other platforms, but at least with other collectors I discussed this with (some of whom don’t have Instagram), they shared the same sentiment.

I'm not sure NG even pay attention to their Instagram - they certainly don't administer it themselves

They'd announced that in March to counter the HX, but frankly the landing gear is so short it rather ruins the model. JC have a habit of making their landing gear too short recently (see the A330/340s)

Ohh I guess I forgot about it, thought it was some kind of secret release, only unveiled now. Quite funny to see the gear length difference! HX too high, JC too low...

I’ve seen them reply to comments a few times
Yeah but as @YesterAirlines mentions - it is outsourced and not run by the factory directly - the comments are from the outsourced agency based on information sent to them form the factory.
NG only communicate directly via Red Note afaik - and a lot of those communications are not even sent to the IG outsourcee simultaneously or updates provided immediately, unfortunately.

The IG handle agency (which is located in the EU) thus only relies only on whatever info is sent to them by the factory.

This is after the original NG IG handle take-down as it is illegal for Chinese individuals / businesses to be using Instagram.

I’m still under the impression that, at least with last month’s releases, they elected to add in a European release following the backlash on social media. While yes their Instagram is outsourced to another individual, NG either saw it themselves or were told of what collectors were saying and decided that they needed to add in the European release to get those collectors off their backs.

Under reasonable circumstances a business should be willing to make changes to their products after a large amount of complaints — that’s exactly what happened on their Instagram, and therefore NG were likely prompted to add the extra releases in this scenario.

You could well be right. Guess we'll see

Honestly, at this point NG might as well just give the factory to Phoenix😊
Imagine if NG, Phoenix, AV400, JC… united to form one unique brand which will use the best mould from each one, combined with the best printing, and release enough models per month to satisfy everyone. There wouldn’t be the problem of duplicate releases or the lack of releases coming from each brand anymore

I think world peace is more likely than that!
