Model teaser from HX model, partially physical.

I have to disagree here. There aren't many kinks. This is being massively over-inflated. So far I have heard the following:

Landing gear too high - true but not by a lot and not a big issue
Tail wrong - barely noticeable to the extent I'm not sure what the issue even is
Rear fuselage - completely unsubstantiated to date
hump shape - again largely unsubstantiated
Engines having separate ring for rims - not a problem
Pylon shape - again barely an issue frankly
Wing join on 748 - this is an issue but would require a complete rebuild and that isn't going to happen

We keep on asking manufacturers to fix issues that really aren't worth fixing or nobody has actually substantiated with actual evidence to prove they are even issues! Of the above I am not convinced 5 are even real problems.
Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't there. But I think we had this already.;)

This entire discussion - while being fun - is totally pointless anyways. We're discussing Made in China diecast made for a market where probably half the customers can't really tell a 737 from an A320.
So this mould is perfectly fine for such market. It just doesn't meet my expections on a 2025 standards mould. And yes, my expectations are damn high given what NG or Panda showed with moulds like 1011s ot Tu-134s and given that my collections has quite some empty spots that would need to be filled with 747Classics, 707s or 727s.

Again, what I see in HX's 747s is a mould that 100% certainly was not based on actual CAD/3D-data. This is pretty evident no matter where I look at. I highly appreciate HX to improve it (as Jim showed in #127) and I do agree that it is the best mould to date. But I strongly disagree that it is "perfect" or "excellent".

As for the issues listed in your post, save me from taking apart my only HX 747 to strip and prime it, just to nitpick through each and every part. Like I said, that would be pointless.
As far as I understood Jim, the v.tail is being adressed and the aft fuselage has already an updated sample (see 127) that at least seems to improve 50%. The other 50% would be the aft fuselage taper as seen side on which should start earlier (just aft of the 4L/R doors) to make the aft fuselage look less "chubby".

They have landed on U.S. soil. I only stocked Clipper Juan T. Trippe and Clipper Young America. Not bad at all. The main thing I notice right away is the metallic nose gear doors, which should be grey.

understand these tend to retail (at least in Asia on MHH as I see it) at a price-point between NG Lite and JC (NG Lite - 140-145MYR | HX - 165-180MYR | JC - 220-245MYR - all prices for a 747, though the recent HX Pan Am set is pri

Man, these are super eye catching... Especially that Juan Trippe.

Placed my order for Juan Trippe! If you stock Storm King, I’ll grab that one too. I just like the name to be perfectly honest
That and Constitution have the highest cool factors imo

Storm King is a cool name for sure.

Instead of getting single digits of all the Clippers, I picked the two I thought would have the most appeal, and ordered a chunk of each.

Personally I would love to see more East (and Southeast) Asian 744s, especially the post-1995 Cathay Pacific livery, JAL (both the 90s-era Tsurumaru and the Rising Sun), Singapore Airlines’ standard livery, ANA, Philippines Airlines, and EVA Air of the 2000s with Mandarin titles. I would also like to see United’s Battleship and Blue Tulip liveries. Having grown up in the Bay Area, I miss seeing all of those tails lined up at SFO, especially at night.

I know they never served SFO, but I would also love to see Malaysia Airlines’ 744 in their standard and Hibiscus liveries.

Pylon shape - again barely an issue frankly

Didn't want to spend any more time on this, but as Jorge posted this great picture above to allow for a good comparison of this pitiful bit of a pylon with the real thing.

@Jim , I'd love to see this issue fixed as it is one of the key features of a classic 747 (to my eyes at least). However this wont be an easy fix as it's not only the pylon itself but an erroneous wing airfoil on this mould. See where the wing nose (leading edge) sits model vs. real thing. The airfoil looks kind of inverted here. You'd need to go for a wing retool to be "correct" which I doubt will happen but I'd highly welcome. You might be successful by just doing a new pylon to fit along the given airfoil though. I might try this with some scratch built pylons on my HX.

They aren't going to 'fix' that - get a grip.

It's almost like you've never looked at a 400 scale model before Alex!

I really think you need to give up collecting because there isn't a single 400 scale 747 that has ever been made with a better wing/pylon join than on the HX - or ever likely to be.

Look at the Dragon:

Look at the recent NG Lite:

and the HX:

You're making me sound like AK but the things you are asking for are neither necessary or even desirable at this point. Anyone who is upset by this 'issue' needs to change the scale they are collecting! There are limitations that making something 400 times smaller than the real thing present.

I don't even know what we're looking at... This is by far the best I have seen in the scale so I'm unsure if expectations are being managed appropriately.

BRO 😎 I respect your misgivings with the quality of the model, but I am personally struggling to see what you mean by the airfoil being inverted.

Would be nice if we got any info on upcoming releases.
