That'll be for military model releases in the database from WW1 and WW2. Nothing to get upset about - it'll just be using the same list for users as for models
Thanks for clarifying, Richard. I wasn't upset, just surprised. That'll be for military model releases in the database from WW1 and WW2. Nothing to get upset about - it'll just be using the same list for users as for models
I recently announced a Premium service on MADb that unlocks lots of extra features. One of those features is to see a cost/value analysis of your collection. Is that what you are referring to?Are you going to add a script which would add all the recently sold of certain models to help to track the value of them?

It uses a proprietary algorithm that evaluates a number of factors. Obviously, since it is just an estimate, no guarantee can be made that a particular model can be bought or sold for the amount listed.can you break down what goes into the cost/value analysis? what’s the forumla to determine what a specific model is worth? just msrp or current average ebay auctions?
Yes, was just curious if it used listings from sites to calculate valuesI recently announced a Premium service on MADb that unlocks lots of extra features. One of those features is to see a cost/value analysis of your collection. Is that what you are referring to?
On the main database page, just click the ADD MODEL button at the topHow do we add models that aren't in the database? For example, I have an Inflight200 Continental 757-300 that is not listed as a release option.

can you go into what some of those factors are?
Essentially, yes. Without a known cost, obviously there is no way to compare. But there is a button toggle that allows you to extrapolate your known costs to all your models (using simple proportion). But in your case, since all of your models that are missing costs are from 10+ years ago, that may not be the best way to estimate those costs. I agree, the formulas could be further developed and improved upon. All ideas welcome.I figure those models are just simple tossed out from the equation?
Some factors includes the price that others have paid and when that was. Currency conversions and average inflation are also considered.

The primary source right now is other user's reported costs. But we do use some additional sources for newer models. How many sources do you pull from when factoring in what other people have paid?
Although this is ideal, it is practically impossible. That type of information is not readily available.Perhaps if there was a way to click an option for “average msrp upon release”
