As I was driving back home from the Houston collectibles show on November 12, 2022, several hundred miles to the north at the Wings Over Dallas Airshow a terrible tragedy was unfolding. B-17 N7227C "Texas Raiders" a staple in the Texas skies and the airshow system in the U.S. was involved in a terrible mid-air collision with a P-63.
Just two weeks before I attended the Wings Over Houston Air Show for the first time since 2014, and thought to myself that Texas Raiders was looking sharp. Very shocking, eye-opening, and somber tragedy. Condolences to those affected.
