The mold doesn’t matter to me. I get the model if I really need it for a project, or if it’s been a model that is important to me. I’m looking forward to the American E175!

Even though the mold doesn’t matter to me, every time I look at the GJ CRJ-550 it looks worse. That nose gear…Felt the same way with the GJ United Express CRJ’s and E jets
Yeah but what other options are there now…Even though the mold doesn’t matter to me, every time I look at the GJ CRJ-550 it looks worse. That nose gear…![]()
I concur with this sentiment, but even if they turn out nice, I'm likely to purchase less of their regional jet releases than I would if they were under $50.Yeah all this is pretty simple:
If they turn out nice - they’re worth $55 (to me at least)
If they turn out on par with Gemini - they’re probably not.
Time will tell, everyone hold your horses and go buy something else in the mean time.
Older collector here, not worried about the price. The American Eagle peaks my interest.Correct,
We have a predominantly younger crowd here at MAF, so resistance to higher prices is normal and expected.
I myself got priced out of the hobby once before. It was not until my third year at an airline that I felt confident enough (financially) to get back in the hobby full-time. With age, collectors stop looking at the price tag and start looking at the actual product. I see this as a collector myself and as a retailer. Make something good, and people with the means will buy it at a premium; make something bad, and you can't even give it away.
As many others have said, it is imperative to see the final product.
I'd absolutely agree with you with just about everything you said there. I want to get the American 175 and Avelo 737, despite their high prices, and I nearly pre-ordered both of them at a snap. However, I realized I should wait for production photos. These are currently on the top of my priority list if they look good, but I'll be uninterested if they do not.I put together some thoughts of my own about the pricing, after giving it further evaluation and reminded of another new brand:
As one of the younger collectors that partakes in the hobby, it’s unfortunate the pricing has gotten to be this point. I still feel that $62 ($55 with the discount) is beyond reasonable for a regional jet, and I say that because we don’t know what the hard product looks like. If it looks good, I’ll retract some of my concerns. I had similar concerns regarding V1:400 and their releases, but considering the hard product on at least some of their products look really good, I’m willing to overlook that to an extent. I do want to acquire them cheaper if possible; going internationally, I fear, will force me to pay whatever difference in shipping since I know those are priced a little lower in other countries. I know new brands have a lot of expenses to them, so in that regard I understand trying to make back as much of that as possible, thus the higher price points. As long as the hard product looks excellent, then I can rest easy in knowing I’ll get what I pay for.
Back on Legacy Jets, I still look forward to seeing how the regional jets and the narrow bodies turn out. I plan on getting the Avelo, hopefully for a little less than the ~$57 price tag with discount, if it turns out great.
Mould is finished and ready for casting, which is already taking place. Stay tuned.
Looks nice!We will post as they come. Here's the latest on our ERJ175
