Introduction to HX Models

Gear’s a bit too chunky, but the rest is alright. Hopefully it’s used well.

Yes, the drawbacks are indeed on the gears. HX have lots of Air China models planned for this mould. Sadly they're all JT9D powered, so I guess chances are slim to see GE CF6-50 or RR RB211 engines being made. HX Models still need to work their distribution for the Western market, so it's very early to see this brand having some success. At least we can clearly say they have a quality B747-100 mould.

Really like what I’m seeing… Shame about the wingtip fences but everything else looks awesome.

Yes, this one sadly doesn't have it because I believe this blank model served as a base for the prototype B747-100 in the "Museum of Flight" version. This version doesn't come with the wingtip antennas nor the hump antenna (which are all present on the "First Flight" release but not on the "Museum of Flight" version).

Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing it up. I’m really excited for some proper airline releases with this mould, hoping for a Qantas or some legacy Asian carriers.

and here it is:

Too bad this model doesn't feature the wingtip antennas.

About the gear height, the gears are indeed a bit too long, but nothing too serious IMO.
Here's a comparison with a Dragon Wings 747:

Overall, i'm very pleased with the quality!!! :)
You shouldn't compare to the tallest sitting 747 we had so far😉

I'm positively surprised on the (later style) pylons on this one. The engines hang a lot better than on their early ones.

BIG letdown however remains unchanged. That huge bump on the aft fuselage is very prominent in your pics. If they could correct this and with it the v.tail as well, I'd have a 747Classic mould to like.

Yeah, I've also noticed the aft fuselage bump but fortunately that's a very minor issue for me.
Let's see how the corrected NG B747-100 mould will compare with this one. At least NG have better landing gears!

They all look very nice, in my opinion.
Pics found on FutureWings and Skyline Model (Taiwan) facebook page.

PS: These models were all planned by HX Models (on that list on their website). Interesting to see all them labelled as YY Models still

YY Models
It seems that because it is YY wings, they customized it, and will follow up with the Lufthansa A380 (AIMB new livery, AIMC Peking old livery), as well as the MD11F, and what makes me happy is that they also promised to follow up with the production of a China Airlines B-18203. These are all models I can't wait to have in my collection.

Are there any more photos of the B-18203?

That's great, thanks for sharing! Eager to see the MD-11s!
