Henschel 123A / Plot Lt Hamann

Hello all , ive just joined this forum as Im slowly getting back into aircraft modeling ( Balsa build) but also started to collect the Oxford aviation 1:72 scale diecast models which I find fascinating and quite a lot of detail for the price and size .
My first model is the Oxford Luftwaffe Henschel 123A ( circa 1938 / 39 ) flown by Lt Hamann , unit 3 ,SFGr.50 .
When I first saw this model I thought it was quite quirky considering the story behind this particular aircraft with its graffiti shown on the aircrafts bodywork ! The model itself is in my opinion very well executed with nice paintwork and details , the model purists on here will possibly have a more experienced view of details such as rigging lines etc not being part of the model but that does not detract from what is an absolutely classic small aircraft . It certainly wont be my last to what I hope will be a nice little collection . I am having difficulty downloading any photos / images of this model so if any member can do this as an addition then please feel free . .....Thanks

Hi and welcome. So you're talking about this model: https://www.modelaircraftdatabase.com/model/74542
Oxford got many aircraft types that no one else did. And the details you mentioned are expensive. If Corgi would make the same model with more details (they did not make this type, but other double-deckers with rigging), it would cost 3 times the price of an Oxford model.

Yes , agreed . It would look really good with rigging etc but as you said it would cost a lot more money .Goy to say though , that the Oxfprd models still look good and are mice display pieces .
