GeminiJets June/July Announcements

Charter that is complete nonsense. There are 8 releases here. 3 have been made by NG Models already and another 2 have been made by NG already with minor variations. Outside of those 1 of the others has been made twice within the past 6 months on far superior castings by other brands. AND the model you want to buy is on a mould that is straight up bad. The only thing varied about this set is the Israeli 777 and even Gemini have made that before, albeit on an old mould.

This is a worse set than the NG release you were upset about except that it has one model you want and you don't care about the quality of the moulds you buy.
Unfortunately you're right, and for some reasons. The first is that in the past i have bought about 1500 models of Chinese airlines, colorful for sure, but then completely a nonsense for the recent time, when i focused my 1:400 collection on European charter/leisure/low cost airlines, Delta models, SAS A350-900 (missing, but just detected because announced by JCWings).
The second is that in 1:400 recently is difficult to see a batch of news without Chinese airlines.
The third is that, better looking at my 1:400 collection, i recognized that i have bought everything from everyone with, very often, bad results. It Is really difficult to look at an almost perfect model, and NGModels still remains the best manufacturer in my opinion.
I always thought that 1:500 scale and Herpa where the "black sheep" of airplane models collection, while 1:400 was the absolute perfection. Then, now that i can finally relax and dedicate more time to the models quality check, i discover flaws, weird models, errors and so on.
That said...ahhhhh what a beautiful pleasure looking at a batch of news without Chinese airlines! 😂

In the US unfortunately yes so - but elsewhere (rest of the world :D) prices shouldn't change unless GJ decides so

It will depend I guess… Since N. America is Geminis biggest market its possible that the market here will set the price elsewhere. I just don’t believe Gemini holds the brand value anymore to be charging these prices like their competitors and that puts them in a vulnerable position for long term success.

I would expect the MSRP to go up everywhere. They can't claw back the 30% just by increasing prices in the US

Gemini goes into July with not only a set of models mostly made better by others already, but also significant price rises too. Here I discuss both the increasing costs (not just a Gemini issue) and rank the models.

As I discuss in the video here's a graph of the price increases of MSRP for a Gemini A321 since March last year. A 24% increase! When it comes to retail price it has been slightly lower - about 20% but that sort of price rise isn't sustainable and I suspect the price is only going one way.

As I say in the video this isn't just a GJ issue, but since they publish their MSRP it is a lot easier to track with them.

They got more expensive here also. If you look at Scalemodelstore.nl where I buy al of my models except Phoenix ( not available ) they got more expensive here. From around 55-59 euro for a 777 to 65 now with the new release. Gemini sends all of their models to the stores from the USA, so everybody will pay the extra tariffs.

I'm sad that there's no Hawaiian this month, and it's even more sad that the price has gone up... But I'll still buy all the Hawaiian that Gemini releases even if the price goes up. They are a brand that consistently releases Hawaiian. Although the wallet may be thinned, the affection for Gemini, which consistently releases Hawaiian, remains unchanged🌺✨(But I might just go bankrupt)

at this point i honestly don't know who is still buying these. Even not speaking from a quality standpoint, identical release can already be bought at lower price. yesteday when I saw preorder email pop up I was like wt hxxx.

The surprising thing is the model price never increased but only DECREASED over the years in China. Back then when I just started collecting in around 2013, a high-end brand widebody like Phoenix costs like 320 RMB (45 USD), that was in 2012/13 remember, now it's 2025 and an NG widebody costs 300 RMB (42.8 USD) and you can easily find cheaper options, an HX 747 costs like 230 RMB (33 USD).

At this point I either recommend buying directly from say Taobao or Xianyu (even with shipping considered it might still be more economic option) or have friends buy them in China and bring over.

edit: just saw the price for europe, on lord, I feel bad for m european friends TBH. In the states there are still chances to get them at ok price (like holiday sales, etc)
