Hi All! Today is a very special day. Today marks 52 years since one of the most majestic aircraft ever built, the Lockheed L-1011 Tristar, took to the skies for the first time. Let's use this thread to post images, share stories and show off models of this amazing aeroplane. I am looking forward to seeing what everyone shares!

Yup agreed. The L1011 not only was it ahead of its time but it also looked pretty good that I had to get 2 models of this amazing plane.

Such a cool plane, hope to watch more just flight videos of them in the coming weeks. The Delta and Eastern ones seem especially neat.

Firstly, welcome to the community! Secondly, those are some stunning models you have there. Love the Cathay Tristar, is it Inflight200?

On an unrelated note, it’s awesome to see some release months for the older Gemini Tristars! Nice Tristar collection too, hopefully I can add more to my collection.

Thank you. I'm on the fence about keeping my Geminis. They are among my first models, and there's so much history there.

No problem, we are glad to have you here! Thanks for letting me know about the Tristar, do you plan on getting NG's CX Tristar when it releases? They will complement each-other well.
If NG released a CX Tristar last month then I would had gotten it. But if they release one for their next batch of aircraft then I'll definitely get it to display it next to my bigger L-1011.

If they gave us a double CX Tristar release for December my wallet (And brain) might just explode!

My bedroom space might also explode! Though I personally want 1 CX Tristar and one Delta Tristar since I got into collecting model aircraft 1-2 months after the Delta's were released in July by NG.

I feel you. Missing a release is extremely frustrating. Most places are sold out of the DL Tristars now, I was very lucky to get one a few weeks back from my local store, but it's still sitting in the box at the moment.

Yeah it is, I was very disappointed when I realized I missed those releases because I always wanted a Delta L-1011 though I might be able to pre-order a Inflight 200 one instead.

Hopefully you will. I am lucky that the shops around me have a few in stock even now, I might head in to get the second one if I can spare a place in the budget.

Well good luck getting that 2nd one! Even though I don't have shops around here that sells model aircraft my wallet is still dying from the Inflight 200 Tristar I got and its probably gonna die more from NG's new Tristars and Inflight 200's DL Tristar.
