Embraer/ATR mould question

Hi all,

In the future I might want to add some Embraers and ATR's to my fleet. As far as I know there is only the Gemini Jets/JC Wings moulds for both ATR and Embraer.

Are the Embraer and ATR moulds decent? Are there for example variants of the moulds that I should avoid, or are there common issues with some of them (keeping in mind that I might buy some second hand)?

Any advice is welcome :)

The ATR mould is good, and I think the only issue you should worry about with the ATR moulds are the gears, which might come fitted poorly and the props, which might come bent a little bit. Apart from that, I think the mould is good and is worth having in your collection.

I agree it is indeed very good. Jokes aside though its a decent mould when quality issues don't arise.

The ERJ-145 mould has generally been pretty great considering its size, despite being an old mould. I have one myself and it is one of my favorite regionals.

E-Jets on the other hand seems to fluctuate more in terms of QC. I wouldn't say it's always good/bad as it really depends on which release you're specifically looking for.

I have seen that on some pictures indeed, also that the main gears are not straight but a little bended to the side in some cases with the ATR moulds. Any idea if it's possible to bend both the gear and props back if careful? Tried the gear once with a md11 but that did not end well.

I would avoid messing with the props honestly, you might be able to get away with messing with the gears but once again, I don't recommend messing with those. Honestly I'd just suggest buying the model in person or find a retailer that will make sure you don't get a model like that

I also want a atr in my collection, but I have fear regarding the assembling. Sometimes I see some models... not so much in good shapes

I own all the types of Embraer E-Jets in Gemini’s moulds and they’re a pretty good product. There aren’t really any competitors in this area though, they’d still be good if there were.

I think Gemini Jets should be readying moulds for at least the two largest E2 Jets. I don’t think anybody is buying the Embraer 175 E2. I trust they’ll be as good, just they have to be careful they don’t oversize the PW engines or landing gear

Watch out for the ATRs though. Though most of them are great, there aren’t many releases and variety. And then there’s that blunder of Aer Lingus they released 1-2 years ago. So warning for quality control
