Imo I believe some fantasy’s are good such as the recently released Alaska a330 from Aeroclassics and such things but it gets to a point, like somebody had said in this forum “it takes a slot for more desirable models” and it’s truly frustrating the only American models they do now are either special livery’s or trash like this, I’m still waiting on all the backed up approved models such as the “catfish” or the “Sofia” they claim to be making the mould for, but for now that’s the end of my rant.

Seems like they’re a little restrained themselves still… I guess the livery is a little amusing, but like others said it is taking up valuable production slots. Of course, they might not be aware of the immense backlash on Western media, so to each their own.

There are so many more fantasy liveries that I could come up with than this crap. Focus on getting the ones we voted and approved already!

Fantasy liveries are just pointless. Period.
Even if in reality they would have been stunning - like say a retro LH A346
Maybe as diehard collectors we are perturbed by this, and maybe a casual buyer will just pick it up as a curio. Maybe there's a market, maybe not.
Doesn't justify its existence either way, considering the number of models and wishes etc that are awaited.

I’m not a fan of fantasy models either. To me, aircraft models should be scale replicas of real aircrafts.
I generally agree with the idea that they should represent a real aircraft, and fantasy liveries that have no basis in reality, or are pure marketing gimmicks (e.g. the "Year of the Horse" by NG, or this one) just take up much needed production line space and there are so many desired models that need to be produced instead.
However, I have also picked up a couple of fantasy models that would normally fit my collecting criteria (e.g. the CX retro 77W by NG) because I wonder what it would look like (and they've been produced anyway). I could live without them though.

I can relate to this as I own a couple of fantasy models myself despite trying to avoid them as much as I can.
