Aeroclassics October 2025 Releases

Looks like they sold out everywhere quite quickly, so I guess they can't be as bad as some of you make them out to be.

Aeroclassics makes tiny production runs of around 80-150 models each. Whereas every other brand is producing around 500. Even with that the majority of Aeroclassics nowadays don't sell out quickly, but most retailers take tiny stock amounts anyway - 3-5 units, so it sometimes looks like they are selling really well when in reality it is just the stock numbers are tiny.

@Ted Have they sold out everywhere? No they haven't.

JetCollector is by far one of the biggest Aeroclassics stockists (if not the biggest after ACDirect). They have listed this month's Aeroclassics and 8 of 10 are still available at the store - see here

PLUS

a) Of September's 12 releases 10 are still available and only 3 of those 10 are down to less than 4 units. Only the Air Zaire and Air Congo have sold out at Jet Collector
b) Of August's 10 releases 7 are still available and only 1 is down to less than 4 units. Only the Ecuatoriana, Air Jamaica and Air Holland have sold out at Jet Collector
c) Of July's 10 releases 4 are still available 3 months later

JetCollector also has 645 in stock Aeroclassics releases. So most aren't exactly selling out.

Over at Eztoys only 3 of 10 of this month's are still available, but interestingly of September's releases 11 of 12 are still available for sale, August's releases 6 of 10 are still available.

ARD in the UK despite listing the models nearly a week before everyone else still has 7 of 10 still available (and never even listed the Cyprus A310). Meanwhile they are already heavily discounting last month's set by 27% or passing them over to their eBay store Ronnies Models.

6 of this month's 10 releases are still available at Aeroclassics Direct - as are 8 of last months (of which only 1 is at low qty i.e. less than 3 units).

Of October's release set none have sold out and the only ones that look like they are close at the moment are the Olympic and Algerian.

The reality is Aeroclassics is a niche brand, typically for older collectors (less concerned with model quality or 'forced' to accept AC quality because nobody else will make most of the models) that makes tiny production runs that are barely profitable (if at all). The majority of Aeroclassics releases do not sell out quickly and there's no denying that of all mainstream 400 scale brands they are the weakest.

AND if that analysis upsets people and makes me Anti-Aeroclassics (which I really ought to be considering everything AK has done) then I would point out I bought 5 of them!

Their quality matches the number of units produced, yes. It however doesn't tell much about whether they are "good" or "bad". These are collectible items. You could print an airline logo on a piece of brick an still sell out if you just lower your production runs accordingly.😉

I understand that classics are more and more niche these days and that AC might be operating in a coffin corner so to speak.

I'm very happy about the more recent Aeroclassics releases. The Luxair Caravelle is great and I'm very much looking forward to the Kuwait Airways 727, which I took a photo of in 1989. I will also order the KLM A310 in delivery colours.

Lately European commercial aviation of the 1980s and 1990s has only been covered by Aeroclassics and Phoenix.

Lovely pic! By the way I was just checking your Flickr gallery. The Dusseldorf and Polynesian dioramas are wonderful. You should post pics of them at the Model Airport section. Sadly it seems to me that most users here focus on this 1:400 section and miss the stuff posted at the Model Airports section

That scheme looks so good on the 727. I really hope cheatline liveries make a comeback... they add so much character to a livery.

Agreed! Cheatlines are timeless - in whatever format - pin-stripes, bands, hockey stick, etc etc. And they enhance the character of any airframe.

My fav current mainline airline schemes are that of China Southern and ANA.
Just fabulous on any aircraft, and free from the pressures of what's fashionable or what's cool or not.

I fully agree.
Nowadays, "retrojet" special liveries look so much better than regular liveries just because they have more color and they have the cheatlines.
A good example is the recent Transavia A321. The retro looks much better than the regular!
Saudia have updated their scheme and brought back the green and blue cheatlines from their classic livery, such a fantastic move IMO!

I absolutely adore Qatar's A310, hahaha! The twin-aisle version of the A318, hahahaha, so adorable!Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be available for sale in mainland China...
