3D Design Deck Monthly improvements

Hello everyone,

I am the owner and creator of a company called 3D Design Deck. We 3D printed 1:400 and 1:200 model aircraft. I design all the models myself, and my wife and I produce them.

I want to use this thread to get opinions from the community on our new models. Every month I’ll come back here and post questions and ask for opinions on random things, and you as the collector let me know what should be improved or fixed.

I’ll also post progress on new moulds asking if something correct (first thing I plan to post)

Most issues with a model can be fixed in less than 10 minutes, so if you see anything let me know.

Thanks for the help and happy collecting!

Looks awesome! I just have one little detail I'd like to mention. And I might be getting ahead of myself as there might be piece missing still. But here it is anyways.

The engine intakes should be a bit ahead of the engine pylons, not in line with them.
Yes they aren’t actually on the model. The pieces didn’t work on the prototype print so I didn’t have a chance to add them.

The tail and engine exhausts mainly.

The vertical stabilizer angle on the trailing edge should be more, almost but not quite parallel to the leading edge.
The top bit where the beacon goes shouldn't pass the elevator so much.
The apu exhaust isn't as long or square.
The engine exhausts should be more of a continuous line downwards with the actual exhaust protruding slightly at the bottom end.

Hope I'm not too picky. I just really like your work and want to see it get as good as it can be.
How is this for the tail. I’m running these later today.

Looks a lot better. Just one more thing before you print. The top of the stabilizer runs all the way to the begining of the elevator and transitions into it. It doesn't suddenly stop half way

Yes I am aware of this. Unfortunately this is something I can’t fix as it’s too small and delicate. We tried on our first batch to do this but the retailers broke through about a hundred models. We had to compromise and go for stability.

Aa ok, understandable. Otherwise it looks pretty good. Were you able to work the engine exhausts?

The engines are fixed but I need to use up the previous batch before I can get to the next batch as they are already assembled. Tail goes into production for the November release, engines go into production for the December release.

Hello everyone. I’m having some issues with my design software increasing the sizing of models by 10%-15%. I checked my calculations on the dimensions and they are correct.

In this photo, does the f28-1000 look the proper size compared to the crj-200

(Disregard the broken stabilizer I dropped the prototype)

Again I don’t know how to add photos to a private convo.

@Mark22 are these the 4 you are looking for?
