Why not just do the old terminal for IND? Your taxiway/runway setup is just about right to make that the old Runway 23R. My dad (purpleplane) and I are re-creating IND circa 1978-2008 in 1:400. We've got just about all the info you'd ever need, even down to the gate assignments over the years.View attachment 12698
Here it is, the project of my future 1:600 airport located in Indiana.
That's fantastic! I would love to know more about IND, and maybe recreate it in 1:600 scale with your help. Why not just do the old terminal for IND? The portion that we're building (the entire old terminal plus a portion of Runway 23R is 6 feet square in 1:400... 2400 feet square in real life. So for you, 4 by 4 feet. A large tabletop in other words. Easy. That's fantastic! I would love to know more about IND, and maybe recreate it in 1:600 scale with your help.
Depends on how big it was...
I know I have the right planes, but at first i didnt chose Indianapolis because I have a big fleet of Piedmont airlines but they never operated there and its quite unfortunate.I will say you have the perfect aircraft mix for IND. USAir and Northwest both had a heavy presence here. NW didn't come in until after the merger with Republic. ATA had charters of course (mostly using the International Arrivals Building on the opposite side of the field from the terminal) but did have scheduled flights to several Florida destinations (and San Juan, using an L-1011) out of Concourse C.
Piedmont did come in here right before the merger with US... and of course the fleets were mixed afterwards.I know I have the right planes, but at first i didnt chose Indianapolis because I have a big fleet of Piedmont airlines but they never operated there and its quite unfortunate.
Also i would peefer buying the terminal and making the ramp.
I would need the real measurements, but would be very ahrd anyway.Piedmont did come in here right before the merger with US... and of course the fleets were mixed afterwards.
What information would you need in order to make the ramp? I do have vector graphics but it would be a major undertaking to resize it to 1:600 and divide it into individual sections for printing.
Well I have all of that figured out. What methods and materials were you planning to use?I would need the real measurements, but would be very ahrd anyway.
I am not too sure
Please pm me your contact info and I'll get a letter size pdf of the overall airport layout out to you whenever I can get the time to prepare it.It will be fine, I will use a smooth mdf board, i will try to match the paint after I put a mask on it for the ramp

At the first gates there are 2 commuters, the Cessna 208 is going to Syracuse and the Metroliner is going to Lincoln. At the Piedmont/Usair gates planes are getting ready to head out. The Fokker 23 is heading to Springfield, a Comair CRJ200 is waiting for the luggage to be loaded before heading to Detroit (the 2 regionals are parked in the regional gates, in an agreement delta can park their planes in the 2 gates). The Boeing 737-300 of Usair is getting refurbished and is waiting for the crew for the first flight of the day to Washington. Mainline Boeing 727-200 of Piedmont is going to Dayton, behind it the Usair Boeing 727-200 is waiting for the pushback clearence to Pittsburgh International Airport.
