Phoenix have been working on a major update to their Airbus A300 mould fixing the major nose and engine issues it previously had. It is nearly ready and they have provided me with the first photos of the updates:

Looks super good! However, isn't the vertical stabilizer a bit too thin?
Other than that... looks fantastic.

After the A300, can Phoenix please develop a new mould for the 747? Please please please?

I think that remains to be seen. the YU was good, but not without issues - the nosegear height being the most annoying. This Phoenix version has the potential to be its equal and is likely to get more usage I'd have thought.

Wonderful news, I look forward to seeing some more A300's with modern printing. Curious to see how it competes with the Yu A300 we just got.

I think this is superior to Yu in at least one huge aspect: main gear size!!! Yu's main gear size and gap looks like L-1011's.


So many options for A300, just a couple jumping to my mind:

Taking the vertical tail unchanged from the original mould is a most unfortunate decision. It was (and is) a mile and a half off.

Are my eyes tricking me or is this classic B2/B4 mould using the deeper/rounded rear fuselage of the later -600 series? Instead of the more straight taper the classic had?

The tail is from the original mould from 2008. Hence why this is an update, not a completely new mould (only the fuselage and engines). Even the wings are modified from the existing mould cast. I will ask them about the tail first though

These major improvements are really good news !
It’s always appreciated to have several quality moulds from the same plane to hope to see more liveries, and more often...
Does the prototype in the photo mean that it will be the 1st release ?

All of sudden interest in neglected molds makes me think others are creating brand new ones. Could it be?
