Suckling Airways started originally operating charter services from a grass runway in Ipswich and was founded by Roy & Merlyn Suckling in 1984. In 1999 the airline was re-branded as ScotAirlines following investment from the Stage Coach group but the introduction of the Dornier 328 was in 1996.

On 8 July 2011, it was announced that Glasgow based airline Loganair had agreed to buy Suckling Airways. The airline dropped its trading name of ScotAirways and reverted to its registered name of Suckling Airways until April 2013 when it was fully integrated with Loganair.6DF9623A-0D04-4B8C-A956-38B0F335F5C5.jpeg
