For those interested, including me, why this heterogeneous choice? Well, my collector mind is really crazy and the ever-increasing disappointment towards Herpa and the 1:500 scale is reflected in an even greater passion, if possible, for the 1:400 scale.
1) Airlines serving Rome FCO airport: Juneyao Airlines B787-9, t'way A330-300, China Eastern A350-900 and B777-300ER, Air Canada B777-300ER latest livery are airlines/airplanes serving Rome FCO airport, my home airport. China eastern widebodies are news for me while i have many narrowbodies, t'way A330-300 is a new entry in my collection, Juneyao Airlines B787-9 "Blossom" is a need for me, also collecting airlines present at my home airport, Air Canada B777-300ER latest livery is the solution to an injustice done to my collection, in fact I thought I had the B777-300ER latest livery and instead i have only the B777-300ER old livery (still a common view at Rome FCO).
2) Missing widebodies: inexplicably i have never considered the beauty of the RAM B787 latest livery (8 and 9 version), having just the B787-8 old livery. In my trip to Paris and ORY airport i had the occasion to see the RAM B787-8 and B787-9 landing/taking off and i remained struck by thir beauty. So i decided to buy the RAM B787-8 "Oneworld" latest livery.
How is it possible not to have the new entry Austrian Airlines B787-9 and having the old A330-200 and B777-200ER? Inexcusable for a good collector like me so i also recovered this wrong.
3) SAS B737-700WL latest livery: i love Scandinavian airlines (SAS, Sunclass, Norwegian, JetTime, Air Seven, DAT, Norse, Wideroe, BRA - Braathens Regional, TUIfly Nordic, Atlantic Airways, Maersk Air Cargo, Suna Air Scandinavia, Air Greenland) and this is yet another strange thing for a collector from South Europa, very far from traditions, climate, society and everything regarding Northen Europe. I try to collect everything from Sweden, Denmark and Norway so for me it is not good not to have SAS B737-700WL latest livery!
4) Airlines useful for planned 1:400 airports and inexplicable love for French Overseas Territories airlines: as already said i am planning more 1:400 scale airports starting from those regarding the French Overseas Territories. I love all the humans of the planet but Italian and French are considered cousins but we are two populations too similar to get along and in fact between Italy and France there's no so much love
so... i love French people, Paris in particular and all French airlines! In my 30 years collecting i wrote in all the ways that manufacturers/brands never considered enough French airlines, starting from 1:500 scale where Herpa seemed to hate France and its airlines! So many French beautiful airlines lost at least until i reached the Dark Side, 1,400 scale with the arrival of Air France (of course), Euralair B737-800, Transavia France A320neo. But historic airlines like Aeris, XL Airlines France, ASL Airline France (ex Europe Airpost and its marvellous B737-700WL old livery) are still missing. This is not true for the airlines serving, precisely, the French Overseas Territories: Martinique, Guadeloupe, Mayotte, Reunion, New Caledonie, French Guyana in particular, without forgetting French Polynesia. And so here we are with monsters of beauty like Corsair, Frenchbee, Air Caraibes, Air Austral, Aircalin and, of course, Air France.
Aircalin A330-900neo entered forcefully in my wishlist, like Air Caraibes A350-1000, even already having a huge collection of A330-200 and A330-300 wearing the livery of these airlines.
Why Air Mauritius A330-900neo? because i am planning to realize Sir Seewoosagur Ramgolam International Airport (Mauritius) in 1:400 scale and because Air Mauritius flies to Paris "Charles de Gaulle" and to Saint Denis "Roland Garros" airports and i need to improve my 1:400 fleet.
5) Beautiful liveries: Cathay Pacific A350-900 "80th Anniversary retro livery", American Airlines B777-300ER "Flagship DFW livery" and Saudia A321neo new livery enter the category of "beautiful and possibly beautiful liveries". Yes, because if i am sure that Saudia A321neo new livery and Cathay Pacific A350-900 "80th Anniversary retro livery" are beautiful, i have doubts about the American Airlines B777-300ER "Flagship livery".
Here we are: thanks for reading, thanks for sharing my weird, crazy, strange collector mind and tastes! I love you all.
