It is perhaps not well known that Thai Airways Company was a separate airline to Thai Airways International and flew for 37 years before being merged into the latter. Indeed Thai Airways was responsible, along with SAS, for the formation of the international arm in 1960. The airline flew to a wide variety of domestic destinations, plus international services to Laos, Malaysia and Vietnam. In 1986 Thai acquired a pair of brand new A310-204s (fitted with wingtip fences), both of which transferred to Thai Airways International when the merger went ahead in April 1988. HS-TIA was sadly destroyed in December 1988 when it crashed on its third attempt to land in bad weather at Surat Thani, killing 101 of 146 aboard. I just picked up this 2021 release from Aeroclassics from Jet Collector. The CF6 equipped version of the Aeroclassics A310 looks much better than Pratt equipped version.

Thai Airways Company also had a fleet of 5 Boeing 737-200s and 4 Shorts 330s during the 1980s prior to the merger with the International arm. Aeroclassics also released one of the 737-200s, HS-TBC, in 2020 and she looks great next to the A310. The reg choices are somewhat odd for these models as both were written off. HS-TBC crashed into the sea near Phuket on August 31, 1987 killing all 83 onboard. The crash was caused by a stall and ATC issues failing to keep aircraft adequately spaced.
