What QC issues did you find? Mine haven't arrived yet. But just from the pictures, the Servivensa blue seems a bit too bright.
I haven't looked too closely at these ones so none on this batch, although most Ac releases have livery issues of some kind. the QC on this batch isn't too bad, although the 727 noses are quite rounded

My January NGs just landed today as well. Really nice pair, love the thick cheat-line livery variation on the Pan Am SP, this together with the other Pan Am 747/SP types in my collection has built up a comprehensive representation in 1:400. The Eastern TriStar though…a real beauty, it’s so well done. Will enjoy this one for many years to come. A big gap finally filled.

Due to the long absence of classic releases on their L-1011 & 747SP toolings, this is the first lot of new NG models I’ve had in a good while. The quality is solid on the copies I’ve received. I note the new plastic cradle the SPs are now coming in, plus the absence of the NG logo on the box, not just on this PA SP but all of the other releases as well. I also found the warning slip inside quite amusing. Watch out for 3D antennas! (Ducks for cover)

So, Squatchy's Diecast was having a sweet sale on Dragon Wings models. And I managed to get myself a hold on a few~ They're also holding a sale on Herpa models (at the time of making this post). I ordered a few Herpa models, and am excited to get them soon.

Dragon Wings
All Nippon Airways (ANA) "Pokémon" Livery
JA8962
B747-400
Dragon Wings
  • comes with a stand
  • Engines No. 1 & 4 were broken off when the model arrived. Though, it was easily fixable

Singapore Airlines "50th Anniversary" Livery
B747-400
9V-SMZ
Dragon Wings
  • comes with a stand & instructions
  • printing on this model is very awkward:
    • small cockpit windows
    • printing in general sits too high (judging on the window layout and titles)
    • registration is the wrong font
Singapore Airlines "50th Anniversary" Livery
A340-300
9V-SJE
Gemini Jets
  • this was labeled as Dragon Wings on the website, but it was in fact, a Gemini model when it arrived
  • definitely one of GJ's older models:
    • cradle mould
    • not a lot of detail printing
    • simple landing gear (non-rolling)

So, Squatchy's Diecast was having a sweet sale on Dragon Wings models.

A wonderful sale indeed. I bought one DW model and had it send to my cousin's place in Florida, but now USPS "couldn't find the address" and the parcel is being shipped back to Squatchy's as I type this :mad::mad: hope I can get my model instead of ending up with a refund

G-BHBR L1011 Landor from NG

One of the more obscure releases on the new Panda Models MD-11 is this lovely China Eastern passenger version B-2173 made for Undefined Collectibles. This aircraft was involved in an emergency landing at Shanghai Hongqiao on Sept 10, 1998 with its nosegear up and converted to a freighter at the end of 1999.

I have been offline for quite a while and did not have many new arrivals. With today’s 2 new incoming model, I would like to share them with a narrowbody I received a week ago.

First is the sole Airbus - Middle Eastern Airlines A321-271N T7-ME3 by PandaModels. I have been looking to add this model to my collection for years, waited for a discounted price but ended up paying the original price. The model got a slight paint blemish… not 100% perfect but is a nice addition to my current active collection, which I can apply on the route from Beirut to the Far East with a stopover in Central Asia for my airport model.

Next is a pair of 747s powered by JT9Ds for my classic collection. Their livery is not the most striking but are welcome additions as they are on the AV400 casting. First up is the Queen from Orient Thai B747-238B HS-UTC. The ex-QF frame spent less than 7 years at the Thai carrier, who operated nearly all existing passenger variant of the standard length 747 (which except for the 748 and 74S, thanks Leo for the info. The model got some white spot on the main landing gears.
IMG_9813.jpeg

Finally, the flag carrier EgyptAir B747-366(M) SU-GAM in the previous scheme. This is one of the later 743 which featured the no HF antenna and modern B744 wing-to-body fairing. AV4 correctly reproduced the non-HF wingtip but unfortunately still had the original WBF. Nonetheless no manufacturers were able to correctly reproduce all characteristics on the 747 Classic later models.

Additionally, I have an incoming model but would only able to do an unboxing later. It is the holy grail for many collectors. Hint: it’s a BB 747.

Wonderful arrivals! Nice info about the Egyptair B747-300. I didn't know she was one of the late built B747-300s.
If Egyptair had selected CF6-80 engines, they would join the club of original operators of the "747-300-almost-400": Thai, Varig and Air India :)

About the Orient Thai info: you mentioned they "operated nearly all existing passenger variant of the 747 except for the 748". Did they have the SP at some point? I don't remember seeing pics of it.
