Show Your Latest 1:400 Purchase

Some new models (& spare parts) just showed up this afternoon.

Firstly, the nose landing gear by Aeroclassics for my Lufthansa DC-8. I have bought these gears once but it was kept somewhere at home and I could not find it. Thus I bought a second set to get the front landing gear for this model. And yes 2 replacement gear sets cost more than twice as much as the model itself.

A model that I missed at initial release and several times later throughout several years. Also I would have preferred the slot-in wings version made by Phoenix. Here is the ANA Cargo B767-316F(ER) JA605F by JCWings. For ANA Cargo, I also preferred the 767F over the 777F although the latter is recently made and widely available. A slight paint smear is also visible on this photo.

Governmental aircrafts have not been my focusing subject as I am more interested in commercial counterparts. Here is the Royal Thai Air Force A340-541 HS-TYV 60204. The airframe is ex-TG. Phoenix has nailed the release nicely. My only complaint is the wing dihedral points a bit too high upward.

A rerelease is rare nowadays and especially for Panda - who I have not seen rereleasing high-demand subjects. During the initial 764 release last year I moved to Germany and did not stay connected well, hence I missed the original batch. Fortunately PM decided to do a rerun (along with the evoBlue 764) for this highly-sought modern release. I might need to add the evoBlue although I have got NG ones.

That’s all for today. What is your favorite arrival?

Another arrival today, GeminiJets Qantas Freight 767-300F VH-EFR. Got it cheap on eBay because of no box, main gear was slightly bent, but easy fix. Very happy with this model, my first freighter and has completed my set of GJ Qantas 767s!View attachment 38505View attachment 38506

How much did you buy this for if I may ask? I have one and as a mainly US collector, I've been looking to part ways with it and i'm not sure how the market really is for an aussie freighter. Thanks!

I paid $37.50 AUD ($23.83 USD) for the model and $17.95 AUD ($11 USD) for express postage. I’d seen the same model on eBay from the US but cost well over $100. Went for this one even though it didn’t have a box cause there was no way I’d find it that cheap again.

A single arrival yesterday and is one of the rare NG latest release purchase by me - Eastern Air Lines L1011-1 N305EA in the bare metal scheme. This model joins my white-fuselage hockey stick. I am really fascinated by the chrome finish on my models but unfortunately this is quite close to being perfect - not as shiny as I thought it would be but not too bad either. Here is a side shot of it.

And btw I have not seen anyone sharing this (I might miss some post though), but there is a CRP certificate included with the model.

A special arrival at the hangar yesterday was the delightful 2024 retailer exclusive for La Tienda De Aviacion in Costa Rica. It was a bit of a mission to get it here and massive thanks go out to both the store owner and @josecolme for getting it to me. It is really appreciated. Lovely little model and a real classic A320 since, as the box says, LACSA was the first operator in Latin America and took delivery of its first pair in 1990.

This was one of my absolute favorite releases of 2024. Along with the TAME 727-200s and Viasa 727 and A300.

Wow…

Where did you find the Viasa DC-10?

No Transavia 757 show exclusive?
A friend of mine brought it me back from China with the other 2 models.Been after one for ages now.I didn’t get to Amsterdam this time but would have left those Transavia’s as not really part of my collection

Sorry, I tried to quote Steinar's post, the Transavia question was intended for him.

Good job on the Viasa, that is my absolute favorite model of all time. I have 4 of them, but I am always interested to see where people find them. Only 500 units produced by GJ for AdamJets, packed in Aeroclassics boxes. It is a weird release as it was not claimed by neither GJ or AC. A true pure LatinClassics model.

D-ABUM just arrived.
All in all a great looking model and 767 mould - there's however two things that make me scratching my head:
Why can't they allign those engines properly? On so many pics of this mould I see engine nacelles facing upwards and my copy is no exception. And this gappy wing joint could have been done better.

Looks really realistic. Is it Panda?
