Show Your Latest 1:400 Purchase

Picked this up from the Waffle Collection Sale for $50. Most of you would know this set usually sells for a lot more, but this one was actually on the "Scratch Dent" section. Turns out it was a broken tail on the Shuttle, and some minor marks on the paint on an otherwise very well-maintained set. It is easy for the Shuttle to wabble around in the cradle, which is why I think it got damaged, instead of mistreatment.

After a good polishing and a drop of glue this is the result:

Living in Houston and having spent five years of my life around Ellington Field towards the end of the Space Shuttle program, I've got tons of cool memories and photos of the SCA (N905NA), and also got to see it carrying Shuttle Endeavour once. Very happy to have found this set at a price that I was willing to pay.

This is when N905NA stopped in Houston on September 29, 2012 taking Shuttle Endeavour to its final resting place in California..

Then the 747 came back to Houston and it is now displayed at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center. The photo below is from March, 20, 2014 when it was being dismantled at Ellington for transportation to the Space Center. It remains my most watched photo at JP.com

incredible price for that model!!

Grabbed a bunch of models as of late - I guess it would be better to split them into a few separate post.

It would be nice to start with a few 747s - both are Lufthansa

The Aeroclassics recent LH looks quite nice!

Continuing on with my recent model spree I guess it would be nice to come up with a few A380s after the Lufthansa Queens:
20240403_005237.JPG
The Aviation400 A380s - I only get the Qantas and Air France in this batch - though I am indeed thinking of getting the Lufthansa and the HiFly A380.20240403_010228.JPG
Individual models:
F-HPJA
20240403_010629.JPG
VH-OQD
20240403_010645.JPG
And ultimately an A380 that I did not expect - the Phoenix Malaysian A380 9M-MNC.20240403_010703.JPG
The Phoenix one was a bargain to me - at 25USD/20GBP, although it suffers from the usual nose-up problem, the price alone is good enough.

P.s. I didn't find the in-flight mode accessory in mines' AV400 A380s - did AV400 cut cost on these or it's just pure bad luck on my side?

Update: As stated by @quanng below I find the flight mode accessory bundled with the stand - hence the line is deleted.

Those are lovely A380 additions. I am very satisfied with my QF.

Regarding the inflight mode accessories: mine is bundled with the stand, which is different to the previous AVs I receive.

New arrival for me!
Emery Worldwide - McDonnell Douglas DC-8-73F - N792FT

Been looking for this model for ages, and I finally got it for a good price. Bought it from a collector from The Netherlands.
Super cool release by Gemini. I wonder why they're not releasing DC-8s anymore. Overall, this mould is good! I like it.
My only complain are these engines, slightly crooked upwards, specially engines #1 and #2. But it's a minor issue for me.
It's the first DC-8 in my collection, and I already have some more on my wishlist!

NG's A321Neo (my first!) of Korean joins the recently received 738.
Thumbs up for NG finally paying more attention to overwing exit walkways but I wish they'd also care for getting a tighter fit for their nose gear axles which are often very wide - I blame this on those damned rolling gears.

Received my Lysia Delta 744! The retailer Aero Le Plane (idek who makes what in this case) due to some in store renovations, my package was delayed in the shipping process. Before it finally got shipped they emailed me and mentioned I got a bonus model too as compensation for the delay! I was originally thinking it’d be another airline however they were kind enough to send a Delta A333 with it! Additionally received a 747 coaster as the cherry on top! From what I know the Delta A330 is pretty rare and lacks photos online. I snapped some quick ones right now however I plan to bring out the camera for it! The mould is pretty decent and reminds me of Dragon Wings a lot. The 747 is also pretty nice and funny how this is my first Delta 744 instead of GJ lmao. Keep in mind these planes do suffer some paint QC issues but nothing else from what I’ve seen except a detached gear on the A330 (fix was super easy). I patched up a few paint chips with paint pens but can’t recover the stabilizer on the 747. Nonetheless huge shout out to Aero Le Plane for being awesome about everything and for the extra stuff!!
