Show Your Latest 1:400 Purchase

There are some models that you search for for years without success and were made in such small numbers that they are truly rare. Although a lot of old Hangar Club models are rather random hybrids this Adria DC-9-30 is a real standout I've been looking for forever. Only 60 units were made, of which this is number 39. This model was acquired from my sponsor Northeast Diecast and is a great example of the sort of rare model they have in stock. Get 15% off your order with the discount code YESTERDAYSAIRLINES15

He is just a scalper who buys all he's stuff from Modeltrainmarket.com and than just sells then for 5x at his store....

That's a bit harsh. He gets his models from a variety of sources and modeltrainmarket's prices are hardly cheap. Some of the prices are higher than Waffles, and some higher than I'd like, but he's not buying the models for $13 each either and so the seller is getting a fairer deal. This Adria DC-9 cost me about $90, which given its rarity I was fine with paying.

I think he paid well over 30 each for the earlier ones (so more than twice what Waffle pays and not sure about the 747s) and like you say he's a business. Certainly all his stock hasn't come from there and he's not forcing anyone to buy the models. Even Waffle would be selling that Adria for around $70-80 so the price I paid was fairly reasonable

My point is that he's a scalper and that scalpers (in my opinion at least) pretty much ruin any hobby they touch, I might be pretty much out of the hobby but I still like it and I hate seeing scalpers in it just making profits of other collectors.
And he bought them for 92 and is selling them at 1300 and I just think think it would have been better if an actual collector bought them to he's collection to add.

I'd argue he's no different to any retailer selling collection sale models such as Waffle and Squatchy's aside from some of his prices are a bit higher (some substantially more so I agree but not all). There's nothing to stop a collector from selling their models individually but it is a huge amount of effort for them and not often realistic.

Gemini Jets UPS 767-300F ordered from Amazon. Great build and quality, my first diecast model ever and have ordered some more already 😅. Just one area on the underbelly behind front landing gear of paint chipping but no bigger than the size of 2 ants. View attachment 45281
Welcome to the MAF! The damage is already kind of normal for Gemini models

Between Victorville and Marana, you probably won’t expect a disassembled Lufthansa 737 to end up in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

It makes more sense when you realize that Lufthansa Technik Component Services sits on the grounds of Tulsa International Airport; being a parts broker, it's a no-brainer for them to plop down the tail of an ex-Lufthansa 737-300 (D-ABXP) before their hangars as advertisement. This also gives me a reason to add this delightful model of D-ABWS by Panda/C Models (or whatever they're calling themselves this week).

They might be different airframes, but both stand out in their own ways: D-ABWS was LH's only 737-300F, while D-ABXP ended up in Tulsa of all places. I also appreciate how clean LH's old livery looks on freighters!

I have not posted for quite a while as I was quite busy. Here are some of my recent arrivals.

From the Brussels Aviation Show on 31.05, despite the short visit of less than 2 hours, I was able to meet & greet with exhibitors coming to last year FRA show and get some interesting models.

Starting with a Worldtail pair of British Airways B737-236 Adv G-BGDO (Whale Rider) and G-BGJE (Hong Kong) by AV400.

And a pair of 757 (I had great love for the type) - a representative from the USA - Delta Airways B757-232 N610DL "Breast Cancer Awareness" by NG.

And a holy-grail for many collectors which I had to think a bit - Aer Lingus B757-2Q8(WL) EI-LBS by NG. The model had little paint bubbles on the wings but it sits perfectly as the first PW-powered 757WL in my collection.

Arrived yesterday is this Ohana ATR42-500 N804HC by GJ. The model was advertised to have no box but arrived with plastic packaging - what a relief.

And lastly - a licensed-produced TriStar - TAP L1011-500 CS-TEG by NG. The white paint seemed to be yellowed (which the phone did not capture in this photo). Had the belly of the model been polished, it would be a perfect representation of the real machine.

That's all for today's post! I hope to share more models soon.

Damn, these last posts are full of amazing models.:love::love::love:

What a lovely bird! Great little model of a quite overlooked subject. This B733 looks really neat. I just wish Panda had used better cockpit windows here.

Tropical Megatop (9V-SPK) from HX Wings. Absolutely delighted to have this model.

Dragon Wings 9V-SPP for comparison.

What a beauty. HX really did a wonderful job with this Tropical 747. A truly stunning model!

Fantastic new arrivals... that TAP L-1011 is one of the most beautiful combos (aircraft + livery) ever.
By the way, my Britannia 757 by NG is also slightly yellowed too... it's very faint, doesn't bother me much, but the difference is noticeable.

HI, I am a new player from China, these are my new purchase this week.
Patriot 747-123 with Endeavour
HX Wings 747-100 First Flight
Phoenix 747-243B CAACView attachment 45372

This line-up pic is amazing! Pure Jumbo power. Very cool models you got there.
So good to see HX pumping out those 747s!
